After a world premiere on the breakfast show on national broadcaster triple j, ARIA Award winner Tash Sultana has released her exquisite new song ‘Pretty Lady’, out today via Lonely Lands Records / Sony Music Entertainment Australia.

The video for ‘Pretty Lady’ premiered earlier today on YouTube, with Tash performing the song at 11am AEST live for fans ahead of the video dropping at 11:30am AEST. The reaction to the creative video has been nothing short of outstanding. The idea behind the video was to really inject some joy and fun into people’s places of isolation, but also to highlight the diversity of spaces and places and show that we are all in this moment in time together, dancing in solidarity. The ‘Pretty Lady’ video features members of the Teskey Brothers, Pierce Brothers and Baker Boy, professional dancers Emily Havae, Melissa Pham, Justin Anderson, Ash McKenzie & Matt Holly and Thalia Heffernan & Ryan McShane,  Anna Seymour performing Auslan, as well as some of Tash’s friends, family, fans and of course, some doggos.

‘Pretty Lady’ was co-written & made by Tash with Matt Corby & Dann Hume in Tash’s own studio. The song is an exquisite showcase of storytelling that Tash has become known for, all the while showcasing Tash’s incredible vocals. Reflecting on the track, Tash explains, “I’ve been trying to figure out how to write this song for like 6 years. I used to loop it and just free style to it when I was busking years ago but I always got stuck on the same parts. I put the song in a box at the back of my mind and revisited it in November 2019. I had Dann Hume and Matt Corby spend some time in my studio and that’s when I decided to show them this song. It’s my first song I’ve collaborated with other players on.”

2019 was a year that saw Tash flourish both through live shows and releases – breaking attendance records in venues around the world, selling out the iconic Red Rocks in Colorado, plus the massive sold outAustralia headline tour with over 70,000 tickets around the country, whilst ‘Jungle’ was ARIA accredited 2x Platinum, ‘Notion’ ARIA accredited Platinum, ‘Mystik’, ‘Murder to the Mind’ and the NOTION EP all ARIA accredited Gold. In streaming, Tash’s releases are currently sitting at over 1 billion total streams – an incredible feat for an artist that has only released her debut album 2 years ago.

Tash is never one to sit back for too long, with dates already in place for the Flow State World Tour to continue throughout the remainder of 2020 starting in Japan this coming May 23. To stay up to date on all dates & purchase tickets, please head HERE.

Tash will be releasing the follow up her ARIA winning debut album, FLOW STATE later this year.
