SHE WALKS THROUGH DUSK
releases new single
‘GHOSTS’Hobart-based rock band, She Walks Through Dusk, released their single ‘Ghosts’ on 18th October 2024 at 12:00am. Described by the band as a “gothic power ballad”, ‘Ghosts’ begins by evoking a dark, moody atmosphere with piano and strings, then gradually builds to a symphonic metal finale.
The lyrics, written by singer Imogen Duske and pianist Amelia Kohl, tell the story of a young woman who is visited by the ghost of her dead lover, who implores her to join him in death. With its polished production and epic instrumentation, ‘Ghosts’ marks a significant departure from the simple, raw rock arrangements of the band’s previous releases.
“When you listen to bands like Nightwish and Within Temptation, there’s something about those orchestral elements that can give you goosebumps,” Imogen Duske said. “That’s the type of music I want to create.”
The single artwork depicts Imogen Duske kneeling in darkness, surrounded by eerie purple lights. Photography and editing were done by Josh Troy, who also played drums on the track. The bridge features vocals by Australian singer Sora Lion of Texture Like Sun.
Recorded at Abatis Studios in England, ‘Ghosts’ was produced and mixed by Mike Exeter, who previously worked on Black Sabbath’s 13 and its Grammy Award-winning single, ‘God Is Dead?’. Jaden Brealey was the recording engineer, while Jon Priestley played guitars and bass. Mike Exeter also orchestrated the song.
“It’s so important to work with people who understand your vision and have the skills to make it a reality,” Amelia Kohl said. “We’re proud of what we’ve created with the team at Abatis.”
Drums and additional vocals were recorded in Hobart at Andrew Stacey’s CityBoy Studio. The track was mastered by Kathy Naunton at dB Mastering.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
