Praise for TELESCREEN:
“Having demonstrated on previous singles ‘Crowded’ and ‘Love Proud’ an ability to craft delightfully sugary indie-rock that you can dance to, Melbourne-based five-piece Telescreen gifted us their latest tune ‘In Mind’ on Friday. And, safe to say, it’s their most exciting work to date.”– Life Without Andy
“combining layers on layers lush with their nostalgia-inducing sound with touching lyricism which further solidifies the band’s knack for open songwriting.”– Pilerats
“It comes together in a really wonderful way and I love [their] progression across the three songs. this one feels the most complete of all.”– Declan Byrne, triple j
“You guys are the real deal. One whole package ready to bloom.”– Claire Mooney, triple j Unearthed
“We’re struck by the amount of hooks Telescreen manage to effortlessly wrap around the one sonic theme, while holding us completely captivated all the same.”– Trouble Juice

Melbourne indie-pop quintet, Telescreen, are today thrilled to share their debut EP ‘Growing Pains’. The highly-anticipated release follows the band’s two 2019 singles, ‘In Mind’ and title track ‘Growing Pains’, with four glistening new tracks.
Once again exhibiting a stunning sense of sincerity, Telescreen’s 6-track package sees them unveil their most vulnerable work to date. New tracks, ‘Caught Up’, ‘You Know Me’, ‘Reminder’ and ‘To Sleep, To Breathe’, alongside their previous singles, see Telescreen venture through terrains of anxiety, personal growth and love through touching lyricism, and carefully curated sonics.

“The Growing Pains EP is about developing a sense of self,” reveals frontman Nic Schwarz. “It deals with self-understanding and realising your self-worth leading up to the natural end point of self-acceptance; learning that there are some things about yourself that you can’t change, and those things are what make you who you are. The EP elaborates on those issues and battles you have along that journey of becoming who you want to be.”
“Simultaneously, the EP title is a bit of a reference to my own personal journey of becoming a songwriter and all the doubts I’ve had along the way since I started writing a few years ago,” Nic adds. “It’s no coincidence tha t a whole part of my own ego has become tied to the songs I write and how they turn out, so I think it’s fitting that the EP is just as much about my own battles as it is about telling a story. It’s a little notice to myself that how other people view my work shouldn’t dictate how I feel about it myself.”
The band joined forces with Dean Tuza (Stella Donnelly, The Rubens, A Swayze and The Ghosts) at Halfway Records Studios and Dean’s home studio to bring ‘Growing Pains’ to life. The EP was then mixed by ARIA nominated Tony Espie (The Avalanches, Robert Palmer) and mastered by David Walker of Stepford Audio Mastering (Jen Cloher, Stonefield), resulting in six stunning indie pop rock tracks.

More on TELESCREEN :
In the little over 18 months since they formed, Melbourne indie-pop band Telescreen have been quick to make a name for themselves in the Melbourne music scene. The first half of 2018 saw the band sell out their first ever live show and work alongside renowned Australian producer Dean Tuza (Stella Donnelly, The Rubens, A. Swayze & The Ghosts) to deliver the first taste of their euphonious Telescreen sound – the release of their two track 7” vinyl which featured their popular debut single ‘Crowded’.
Likened to their sonic influencers The Strokes and Methyl Ethel, ‘Crowded’ was a favourite within the radio community earning them regular spins on radio stations around the country including Triple J and Triple J Unearthed, 4ZZZ, FBi Radio, Radio Adelaide and SYN. This saw Telescreen land top 10 spots on both the Triple J Unearthed and AMRAP charts where they sat amongst Australian greats such as Courtney Barnett and Dan Sultan.
Telescreen played a packed run of shows to close out the back half of the year, sharing the stage with the likes of Teenage Dads, Nat Vazer, IVY and Approachable Members Of Your Local Community.
2019 is proving to be a big year for Telescreen with the band having already supported much-loved Perth band Mosquito Coast, Sydney siders STUMPS and Melbourne up-and-comers DIET., as well as playing at the launch of the new industry app Muso.
Off the back of this and after much anticipation, Telescreen released their first new music in over 10 months. Their latest single ‘In Mind’ saw the band release their debut music video to high acclaim. Directed by one of Melbourne’s most exciting new names in film, Maddelin McKenna’s visual adaption of Telescreen’s moody new single explores gender norms and conformity.
The follow up and title track from the ‘Growing Pains’ EP saw Telescreen reach #1 on the Hype Machine charts and in the lead up to the release their debut EP, ‘Growing Pains’, Telescreen brought their stellar live show to support local legends Zuma, with the promise of more live shows to come.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
