Hailed as one of Australia’s most significant new talents at BIGSOUND and following a national tour as special guest for Vera Blue, Sydney singer/songwriter Thandi Phoenix today reveals the visuals for the stripped-back rendition of her latest single Standing Too Close via Motto/Neon Records.
Directed by Hobo Incognito, the acoustic rendition of Standing Too Close shines a light on Phoenix’s effortlessly commanding vocals. The visuals offer a velvety take on the previously released dance-ready anthem, which claimed the #1 position on the Australian Spotify Viral chart.
The release follows on from Phoenix’s 2016 single Tell Me Where All The Lovers Have Gone which also topped the Australian Spotify Viral Chart and her 2015 debut, Come Around which laid the groundwork for her being named as FBI’s Independent Artist of the Week.
Phoenix has honed her world class live act performing as special guest for Jhene Aiko, Tinashe, Rudimental and Tinie Tempah. She has taken the stage Splendour in the Grass, Soulfest, Bluesfest and Curve Ball and performed at the Opera House with Ta-ku, Wafia and Sampa The Great, as well as an appearance on Just A Gent’s triple j Like A Version of Kid Cudi’s Day N Nite.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
