Off her self-titled debut EP which is released today, Thandi’s new single ‘Again’ sees her add yet another impressive feather to the cap. A striking duet with Dan Caplen who has seen major success thanks to collaborations with Rudimental, Macklemore and Jess Glynne.
From the outset ‘Again’ presents itself differently with Thandi’s silky vocal gliding over a stripped instrumental bed. A scurry of string trills build suspense throughout the opening, before a muted percussive clattering elevates the energy, and Thandi delivers the flowy hook. Caplen takes centre stage in the second verse with effortless poise. The two vocals intertwine until they are met by the percussive groove that reminds you of Thandi’s rich love for drum & bass. The duet builds to a climax and the air clears as the piece comes to a conclusion – Thandi’s most expressive and emotive piece to date.
Thandi Phoenix has gone from strength to strength this year; ‘Say It’, produced with UK electronic powerhouse Sigma and Thandi last single ‘Cleopatra’ both received an add to full rotation across triple j and across commercial radio. Phoenix also wowed radio audiences and critics alike around the country, taking on Portishead’s ‘Glory Box’ for triple j’s Like A Version. Accompanied by nothing short of strings, horns, bass, keys and drums, this combination provided the perfect platform to showcase an incredible vocal delivery.
Her powerhouse vocal and prowess as an artist have also seen Thandi called on by some of Australia’s biggest talents: She has been asked to perform alongside Illy and Dunerats at ABC’s The Set, as well as at top-tier festivals like Snow Tunes, This That, Spilt Milk and Curveball.
Her set at Splendour in the Grass 2019 was hailed by triple J as the Saturday Standout performance labelling it as ‘all class from front to end’. She most recently performed Beyonce’s Halo alongside the legendary OneRepublic at the NRL Grand Final, bringing her front and centre to the Australian stage.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
