The first of the final shows by the original line-up of The Cat Empire have been wholly embraced by the band’s loyal fan base with 2 amazing nights at The Sidney Myer Music Bowl kicking off their last run together in the original format.
After it was announced that the original 20-year line-up of the band would play their final shows together, with only Felix Riebl and Ollie McGill continuing the band, fans from across the globe have bombarded the band’s social media and management with messages of thanks, appreciation and love for two decades of good times and great music.
During a career that has seen close to 1,500 performances the band have created indelible memories for so many who have lived the best part of their lives with The Cat Empire providing the soundtrack.
One of Australia’s most successful musical exports over 2 decades, The Cat Empire garnered fierce devotion in all corners of the globe. It was not unusual to find the band performing on main stage bills at iconic international festivals, selling out the world’s most famous arenas, mobbed by supporters and media at airports in Spain, and appearing on top rating T.V. shows like Letterman and Leno.
That communal celebratory live experience has connected internationally, and intentionally The Cat Empire have inspired their audience through joy and the simple desire to make people dance.
For those who missed it, the final Melbourne show will be streamed as a virtual concert this coming Saturday the 18th of December, giving the band’s international network of fans a chance to dance with the original line-up one more time.
The rest of Australia will a chance to groove IRL one last time with The Cat Empire original line up at the band’s final show dates in 2022 including, Sandstone Point, The Sydney Festival, Womadelaide, Redhill (Perth), with a finale at Bluesfest in Byron Bay.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
