After revealing a new song each month across 2018 to their legion of fans around the globe, the time has finally arrived for Stolen Diamonds, the brand new album from The Cat Empire to be released in full.

Captured during an autumn recording session just outside of Melbourne with long-time collaborator and producer Jan Skubiszewski, Stolen Diamonds documents one of Australia’s most successful musical exports at the zenith of their creative powers. Theirs is blueprint featuring the various elements collected and combined over the years to formulate their own recipe for perfect roots pop, refined to the point now where it has now become a life affirming elixir,  galvanising and levitating their fiercely loyal supporters.

The Cat Empire’s unique delivery strategy in the lead-up to the album’s release has paid impressive dividends. Preview songs like Ready Now, Stolen Diamonds and Oscar Wilde to name but a few have mobilised the band’s fan base in anticipation and have already ticked over 5.4 million streams. Hundreds of thousands of YouTube views have also been registered for the accompanying 360” live video series, which again saw the band break with convention by producing a series of performance clips where viewers are able to choose their own customised view of the band as they perform each newly released song.

Followers of the band have also been engaged over the past 12 months with various fan-only activations and pre-sale initiatives, and that engagement has continued with the delivery of the new album. Hosted by esteemed journalist Michael Dwyer, a live ‘Making Of The Music’ streaming event took place last night with the band deconstructing various songs from the album as way of illustrating how they were written, taking questions live from fans all across the world. Having recently teamed up with the Australia Council to support a potentially career-changing grant helping fledgling Australian musicians to tour internationally, The Cat Empire themselves have a had another successful year as a totally independent entity. More touring is slated for 2019, including the current run of sold out shows at Melbourne Zoo, an extensive North American tour in March, and a European festival run in July, suggesting things aren’t slowing down for The Cat Empire.  Expect to see them touring in Australia from October this year, shows to announce soon.

The Cat Empire’s Stolen Diamonds is available on German manufactured Vinyl, CD, for download, and streaming on your favourite streaming service.
