Following on from their stunning return single ‘Ease My Mind’, Australian rock exports The Faim have released another anthemic, adrenaline-charged single ‘The Hills’.
With vehement vocals and a fervent performance, ‘The Hills’ is a standout from their forthcoming album, which will be released later in 2022. Liberating piano hits, atmospheric synths and assertive drums combine and charge towards a cathartic chorus, where the band’s charismatic frontman Josh Raven touches on themes about revitalisation and nostalgia.
“’The Hills’ is a song which touches on anxiety and the desire to go back to that place where you can reconnect with yourself and take a breath.” comments guitarist and songwriter Sam Tye. “For Josh and I, the Perth hills is one of these places and after two years of being on the road, coming home gave us a moment to reflect on the sometimes-overwhelming experiences you have whilst touring. I hope this song helps people find that place for themselves.”
Alongside the release is the aesthetical music video. Featuring gorgeously golden shots of the band performing the song, with picturesque footage of the Perth landscape, the video touches on the song’s sentiment, paying homage to the band’s beloved homeland.
“’The Hills’ music video involves a stylistic representation of life inside the band,” continues Tye, who created the concept for the video. “The driving connects to life on the road and experiencing the world through a moving window as they travel to their next destination. In certain moments we see live performance represented and in others we see snapshots of personal creativity, drawing back the curtains of life in a band and its perpetual motion.”
The Faim are set to kick off a massive year with festival performances at the iconic Download UK and Rock am Ring, as well as their soon to be announced UK and European headline tour. This continues on from a stellar run of sold out shows around the world, including performances at international events such as Reading and Leeds Festival, and Slam Dunk Festival, as well as sharing stages with international juggernauts PVRIS, Against The Current and Sleeping With Sirens.
They have accumulated over 140 million streams globally, having written and worked with the likes of Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy), Mark Hoppus (blink-182) and Josh Dun (Twenty One Pilots). Previous single ‘Summer Is a Curse’ featured in an advertising campaign for Jeep, while the likes of Coca Cola and MTV have licensed the band’s music as well.
Previous single ‘Ease My Mind’ was widely supported by the likes of Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, Triple M, Idobi Radio (USA), BBC Radio 1 (UK), SWR3 (DEU), Kerrang!(UK), Rock Sound (UK) and NME. The accompanying music video was added to rotation on ABC’s rage and MTV Australia.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
