In anticipation of their long-awaited debut album, State of Mind, current Rock Sound Magazine cover stars, The Faim have unveiled the official music video for lead single, ‘Humans’, today. The cinematic offering dives into the world of science fiction while also highlighting a visually stunning band performance. The video follows the four-piece as they’re taken captive by a government organisation and subjected to tests to determine if they are human or android. To escape, they’ll need the help of someone who’s more than human…
“Creating the music video for our latest single, ‘Humans,’ was our favourite shoot to date,” says Stephen Beerkens (bass/keys). “We worked with an amazing team in Los Angeles, who helped capture the entire video in just one day. The concept represents us searching for both our differences and the things we have in common, which also encapsulates the essence of the song: what it means to be human,” he explains.
Following the release of last year’s debut EP, Summer Is a Curse, The Faim wasted no time creating music for their first full-length effort, State of Mind, due on 13th September via BMG. The album includes eight brand new tracks in addition to previously-released singles, ‘Summer Is a Curse’ and ‘Amelie’. If you were able to catch The Faim on tour earlier this year, you may have also heard them play ‘Beautiful Drama’ and ‘Infamous’, two additional fan favourites on the record. The complete track listing can be found below. The Faim will also be unveiling more new music soon in advance of the album release. In the meantime, stream “Humans” HERE, and pre-save State of Mind HERE. The special deluxe release will feature two more tracks, Broken Places & Invisible Hearts.
The Faim will be returning to the U.S. this Autumn for a massive co-headline tour with fellow Aussie group, Stand Atlantic. The band will then return to the UK & EU for headline dates, including London’s Electric Ballroom. The trek continues to build on the quartet’s global touring momentum, where they’ve sold out their own headline shows, played major European festival staples, and supported the likes of PVRIS, Andy Black, Sleeping With Sirens, and more.
Since its release, ‘Humans’ has garnered considerable support from Australian radio, with an add to rotation on Hit Network’s Collective Noun, which is syndicated nationally across their metro and regional network. It has also been added to play lists on WA’s Red FM and 897 FM, as well as picking up strong support from SYN FM, JOY FM and Aussie Music Weekly.
Within the blogosphere, it’s received glowing features from Savage Thrills, Hysteria Magazine, Music Feeds, The AU Review and Something You Said.
‘Humans,’ is available worldwide now via BMG

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
