Returning to their love of duets, THE HARPOONS provide a combination of chopped rhythmic structures and invigorating synths, illustrating their knack for boundary-pushing contemporary music. Premiering via  Complex UK & BBC Radio’s Future First Playlist, “REASSURANCE” is a nod to UK garage, vocalist Bec Rigby explains:

“THE HARPOONS spent a quarter of a year living in London, writing, recording, enjoying the fried chicken culture, the tiny basement clubs, janky jazz bars and the rewinds on the radio. This is our cute homage to UK garage, one of the deepest scenes of the naughties that went literally from broadcasting out of people’s garages on pirate radio in the UK, to sweeping the entire world.” 

REASSURANCE follows on from the screaming diva moment of “DO YOU WANT MY LOVE” which premiered via Rolling Stone earlier this year and was their debut release on label Caroline Australia. One of this year’s most welcome releases, the track shot to international acclaim, premiering via Los Angeles radio giants KCRW and UK tastemakers Clash Magazine. The song also garnered local support from i-D, triple j, FBi Radio and Triple R peaking at #13 on the Spotify Australia Viral 50 Charts. The release was followed by three standout sets at Brisbane’s BIGSOUND and two single launches in Sydney and Melbourne, selling out their hometown in pre-sales.

Since the release of their much loved debut album FALLING FOR YOU, THE HARPOONS have developed a reputation for delivering innovative and soulful pop music.
