Triple threat multi-award winning electronic music producer, vocalist and songwriter The Kite String Tangle aka Danny Harley shares his upbeat new single ‘A New Day’ out today via Warner Music Australia. The new tune features Harley’s immediately recognisable soulful vocals and a catchy beat that runs throughout, a perfect blend of the two areas which is what Harley does best. Envisioning everyone’s hands up in the air at a live show, this sing along gem could give ‘Arcadia’ a run for its money.

This new single follows on from the instrumental release ‘Euclidean’ and first single in three years, ‘Fist Fight’. Of the track The Kite String Tangle says “This song, vocally, was one I wrote and kept coming back to because it felt really uplifting and positive. It’s about looking forward, no matter what happens tomorrow you’ll wake up and can make new choices and create your own path and it won’t matter what happened yesterday because you can make the choice to change.

One of my favourite sounds in this is what I call ‘The Conch’ which is this kind of obnoxious horn sound that appears throughout and almost sounds like a call to arms which I thought was appropriate.”

The Kite String Tangle is the musical project of Brisbane/Meanjin-based, twice ARIA nominated artist, producer and label owner Danny Harley. Since his Gold Certified debut single ‘Given the Chance’ back in 2013 (#19 in triple j’s Hottest 100), he has built a following around the world with his distinctive sound and engaging live performances.

His debut EP Vessel features hit breakout single ‘Arcadia’ (voted #15 in triple j’s Hottest 100) and has racked up 25 million streams on Spotify alone.  Then followed his debut album, The Kite String Tangle in 2017, which earned him critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Not one to sit still, the prolific singer songwriter crafted a mini-album entitled In A Desperate Moment in 2018 to accompany his sold out shows with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. In 2020 he released his second album C()D3X which saw him win the 2020 Queensland Music Award (QMA) for Best Dance Song and Best Video (‘P()L4R’).

The Kite String Tangle has a reputation of being a world-class live act. He’s sold out headline shows of his own as well as supported Rufus Du Sol, Odesza and London Grammar and performed at Festivals including Falls, Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo, FOMO and has made a guest appearance at Coachella.
