The legendary Laidback Luke has today announced his return to Australia for a 2018 tour. The Dutch master will kick off his Aussie tour in Newcastle on June 8th, before hitting the Gold Coast on June 9th, Adelaide on June 10th and Darwin on June 15th, before headlining Sydney’s Ministry of Sound Club at ivy on June 16th.
From his origins in the house and techno underground to his current more eclectic style, Laidback Luke has always been a leading light in musicof the present day as well as the future. The Dutch hero continues to enjoy a hugely varied and consistently noteworthy career in the game. With a reputation as a serious talent scout and for being one of the nicest guys around, he has built himself a mightily impressive musical empire that has touched the highest reaches of the music industry.
From remixing dance legends like Green Velvet and Daft Punk to A List artists like Madonna and Nicki Minaj, Laidback Luke is a hugely accomplished producer. His scouting skills have served up an impressive array of big hitters on their way up including Avicii, A-Trak, Bingo Players, Knife Party, Afrojack and Steve Angello, and his commitment to discover and support new talent is emulated in his role as founder of his own Mixmash Records.
As a DJ, he’s a continual fixture on all the biggest dance stages in the world, with regular dates at the clubs and festivals like Tomorrowland, Creamfields, Ultra Music Festival and Parookaville to name just a few.
His popular weekly vlog ‘The Real World: DJ Edition’ gives an insight into his intense life and maintains a direct connection with fans, while his healthy lifestyle sees him extol the virtues of Tai Chi, Yoga, healthy food and his beloved Kung Fu (taking home three gold, two silver, and one bronze medal in the 2017 World Championship in Hong Kong!) over hedonism and excessive partying.
