Handsome Tours and Bluesfest are excited to announce the return of Denver’s homegrown indie-folk collective, THE LUMINEERS, to Australia for Splendour in the Grass this July. This is accompanied by the announcement of a special one night only appearance at the Enmore Theatre on Monday 22nd July.
Pre-sale for this extra special show begins on Monday 15th April at 9am local time, with general onsale beginning on Tuesday 19th April at 9am local time.
Ahead of their July appearances, THE LUMINEERS recently released the first single ‘Gloria’, from their upcoming third studio album, ‘III’, due out this September. A conceptual album presented across three chapters, ‘III’ is audacious; every note, every syllable, and every moment of silence in between is emotionally charged. The album is darker in tone than anything they’ve done before; with each part centring on one main character from a fictitious family known as The Sparks; who span three generations in the album’s storyline. Mixing raw emotional themes with their ear-catching melodies, expressive vocals and trademark acoustic sound; ‘III’ moves masterfully in artistic directions not yet travelled by the band.

The band released their eponymous debut album through Nashville’s Dualtone in 2012. The triple platinum album garnered two Grammy nominations and spawned the chart-topping platinum singles, ‘Ho Hey’ and ‘Stubborn Love’.
After years of touring the world in support of their debut album; the band released their follow up platinum album in 2016 which debuted at #1 on both Billboard’s Top 200 Albums Chart and the UK Albums Chart; and earned them multiple Grammy nominations.
