“All in all, THE PLOT is exactly what a festival should be; soaked in sunshine and brilliant music, side by side with people who love live music just as much as you do”
 – Australian Music Scene

“It’s great to see the message sink in this year that THE PLOT is the best scorecard on Australian music. Seeing so many people here to celebrate that is a really satisfying thing”
– Project U

“With the current climate of festivals within Australia asking for more niche lineups, the team at THE PLOT pretty much crushed the lineup and the day”
– The AU Review

“THE PLOT was an absolute success and really hit home the importance of festivals and the way they seem to manifest these little pockets of memories and experiences that all gig-goers will continue to carry with them as they bounce through the stages of life”
– Tone Deaf

This year at THE PLOT HQ, our favourite number is 25. Why? Let’s start with some fun facts about this joyous figure;

  • It’s the atomic number of Manganese
  • When you turn a quarter of a century, you can rent a car without paying a premium on insurance
  • This year, 25 years ago, the first ever text message was sent
  • Wayne’s World turns 25 this year – party time, excellent!

Whilst on the topic of party time, here’s the real reason we love 25. It just happens to be the number of artists that make up our first announce for THE PLOT 2017. It’s also the number of minutes it takes you to get to beautiful Parramatta Park from either Central or Penrith train stations.

So please welcome 25 of your favourite emerging artists;

.

Airling | Alex The Astronaut | Alice Ivy
Bec Sandridge | Cable Ties | Confidence Man
Dean Lewis | Dear Seattle | Haiku Hands
Hollow Coves | Jess Locke | Kuren | Kyle Lionhart
Lastlings| Maddy Jane | Manu Crook$ | Ninajirachi
Northeast Party House | Nyxen (live)
Ruby Fields | Saatsuma | Skegss
Sleepmakeswaves | The Teskey Brothers | Tigertown

Plus more to be announced soon!

.

When we say more to be announced, we mean we’ll be adding over 30 more artists, including our local and legendary 2150 Stage program, in the coming weeks.

What Is The Plot?

.

THE PLOT has proven itself to be one of the best ways to get to experience emerging artists up close before they take on the world (cough cough, DJ Snake, Alison Wonderland, SAFIA, Amy Shark, Tash Sultana, cough cough).

THE PLOT will once again be a licensed all ages event (16+ recommended), making it more accessible to more music lovers!

Covering all genres from bedroom producers to hip hop to indie rock and all parts of the country, from Fremantle WA to Hobart TAS, our artists will play across four stages in the stunning surrounds of Parramatta Park.

Previous attendees of THE PLOT will know that it’s much more than just a music event. THE PLOT will again welcome bucket loads of local food producers, beverage makers, brewers, craft and clothing creators and more from Sydney’s Greater West. The food, beverage and huge Community elements of the festival will be revealed in the coming weeks.
