Victorian youth music organisation, The Push, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Kate Duncan as the new Chief Executive Officer.

After 30 years of incorporation, it is time for The Push to redefine our positioning as a relevant and dynamic organisation in fostering Victoria’s future generations of music industry leaders and audiences.” Kate Duncan – Chief Executive Officer
Having worked for the organisation for two years, Kate steps up from her role as Creative Producer where shehas led a range of new programs and initiatives including New Slang – a series of monthly all-ages events held at Arts Centre Melbourne and Live At The Steps. In 2017 Live At The Steps saw more than 10,000 young people attenda free all-ages music event at Treasury Gardens in partnership with triple j and Parliament of Victoria.
Prior to working at The Push, Kate spent several years in local government developing a range of innovative and award-winning youth music programs, as well as the Victorian Government Office for Youth, managing the National Youth Week grants program. Kate is a current Advisory Panel Member for Creative Victoria, the Australian Women in Music Awards and Music Australia, and previous member of the ABC Advisory Council.
An exciting year for The Push, 2018 marks the 30 year anniversary of the organisation with new initatives to be announced shortly. Working closely with The Push team Kate will continue The Push’s work to deliver a range of music programs and events, and provide support to young people in relation to creative industry pathways.
2019 will see The Push relocate to the recently announced Music Market at the Collingwood Arts Precinct with Music Victoria and the new Victorian Music Development Office (VMDO). The Music Market will sit alongside community radio station PBS FM, which last year announced its plans to relocate to the site.
