Following the success of her single ‘The Thing About Us’ (released in December 2020) which was picked up by Home and Away and Channel 7 for a national TV and radio adv campaign, airplay on Triple J, I Heart Radio, The Edge FM, rotation on Nightlife-crowdDJ and a scheduled performance of her single at Suncorp Stadium (which was subsequently postponed due to COVIDD). Beks announces her debut remix pack.

The remix pack features Mattsoro, whose remix of Kishi Bashi ‘HoneyBody’ has accrued more than 1.2 million streams on Spotify, up and coming electronic producer BALLAST whose work has caught the attention of Triple J, TMRW music, Futuremag Music, and HAHVEE, whose work on RuPaul Drag Race Downunders’ Etcetera Etcetera’s debut single ‘Flush’ has made him an in demand producer.

Beks’ love of EDM, retro pop and indie-rock are perfectly encapsulated in this remix pack, with each remix transforming her original pop single into a fresh new experience for her fans. Maintaining the original vocals recorded and produced by Cam Nacson, ‘The Thing About Us – Remix Pack’ is a genre bending journey, each serving her original hook “the thing about us” with a new flavour and twist.

Mattsoro (Matt Sorosen) was introduced to Beks by her publisher, Larry Heath of Wise Music Global. Upon hearing his highly streamed, Kishi Bashi’s ‘HoneyBody’ remix, Beks was immediately hooked into his house-disco production. Matt is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, and performer based in Brisbane, Australia creating his remix of ‘The Thing About Us’ in an empty backyard pool, converted to a studio. In his words “I love collaborating with other artists, and making music with new technology and weird objects” – Mattsoro.

BALLAST

BALLAST (Oscar Manning), has delivered a cutting edge electronica remix of ‘The Thing About Us’ after receiving Beks stems pack via her longtime friend Issac Lewis of Waratah Records. BALLAST, is an Australian electronic music producer and vocalist raised in the Central Coast, NSW, Australia. Growing up on ‘Rock’ music, Oscar later found a new love for electronic music as it continued to rise to the mainstream in his younger years. With multiple tracks making it onto the globally recognised Triple Radio, his experimental flair has been described as ‘dark’, ‘doozy’ and ‘glitchy’ with heavy influences from hip hop and pop genres in some tracks. With his production constantly evolving, he will continue to push the boundaries and leave his listeners dazed like they just snapped out of a hallucinatory dream. “I don’t create music to make the good times better, I create art to make the hard times easier.” – Ballast

HAHVEE

HAHVEE (Javier) is a Sydney based electronic music producer with over ten years experience in creating wall licking drops. HAHVEE has produced a wonderfully twisted indie-rock, footwork fusion of ‘The Thing About Us’. With a variety of work under his belt, with projects like the Harry Potter Parody show “The Philosopher’s Strip”; music for Miss Burlesque Australia; and production on Etcetera Etcetera’s debut single, one of the contestants from Ru Paul’s Drag Race Down Under, his remix of Beks single, truly reflects the colourful and eclectic decade of work he’s produced as a music maker.

Recently Beks’ scheduled performance at Suncorp Stadium for the NRL July 4th game in Brisbane was canceled. The artist was notified 18hrs prior to her performance that ‘all on-field entertainment was canceled, however, the game would go one at 100% capacityy”
