Praise for THE VANNS
“It’s got elements that would make classic rock heads lose their mind and the indie kids swoon as well.” Triple J, Declan Byrne (‘Mother’, 2019)
“‘Mother’ matches pangs of nostalgia to their glorious bittersweet melodies.” Clash (UK)
“With raspy vocals cooing through the verses and expressive chorus it’s an instantly likeable rock ‘n’ roll tune that packs a serious punch. Refined, swagger dipped and laced in oodles of passion and fantastic instrumentation, ‘Mother’ gives us another reason to keep an eye on The Vanns.” Indie Buddie (UK)

Having spent years on the road and in-studio, evolving and finessing an indie rock sound that has become synonymous with an irresistible live presence and charm, The VANNS have channelled all the lessons learned and talent grown into their much-anticipated debut album, Through The Walls. Ahead of the band’s biggest Australian tour to date, The VANNS new music throws down the gauntlet in presenting the band at the top of their powers.
Earning their stripes as young festival favourites off the back of sets at Party In The Paddock, Yours & Owls Festival and the Big Pineapple Festival, the national attention the band has been attracting has courted the acclaim of Triple j and national radio, coupled with a dominating online presence and over four and a half million streams to date has positioned The VANNS in their best form yet, all before the release of Through The Walls.
Released on October 25th, the album is a defining mark for the group, who have fast become one of the most engaging and in-demand young rock bands out of the South Coast. Powered by soaring vocals and a shining coupling of guitars and crashing percussion, Through The Walls is the apex of The VANNS creative strength. Dutifully playing with tone and sonic balance, the album is an emotional trip demonstrating the songwriters’ strength for playing in both arena rock territory, and also stripping back to show off a more vulnerable side.

The release of singles ‘Deranged’, ‘How Was I Supposed To Know’ and ‘Mother’ were quickfire examples of The VANNS’ striking indie-rock direction for Through The Walls, yet delving into the album, the listener is able to get a beautifully fleshed out picture of their wider sonic landscape. ‘Jasmine’ is a turning point of the album, a chance for the audience to breathe as the band replaces toned guitar riffs with emotional piano and vocals. Similarly, ‘Jules Said’ comes delivered with gorgeous reflective tone, throwing the spotlight on the band’s matured knack for melody.
“If the album has any kind of overarching, spinal theme running through it, it’s Jim and I coming together and writing about similar experiences we’ve gone through. It’s a relationship record and it’s a break-up record; and it’s about being in your early-mid twenties and trying to understand and navigate through both those things.” The VANNS – Cameron Little
Produced by Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy) and mixed by Dawson and Chris Collins (Gang of Youths), Through The Walls has the hallmarks of a classic in time; a portrait of a young band taking strides in making music reflective of a variety of life experiences well lived.
“Through The Walls is a physical and emotional barrier within a relationship. The album explores the miscommunication and distance between someone you love or loved. The album cover is my father, the picture being taken 40 years ago, at the same age as me, and going through the same relationship problems. Today, the circumstances haven’t changed, but time has…” The VANNS Jimmy Vann
With an extensive Australian tour set to kick off around the album’s release, The VANNS are set to perform to their largest crowds yet, more than ready to introduce fans to this integral chapter of their creative journey.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
