The Wolfe Brothers are celebrating today as the news comes in of their 15th consecutive #1 single on the Country Airplay Charts, the same day they have released their fifth studio album – Kids On Cassette – to the world. The band’s latest single, Startin’ Something with LOCASH hit the Top 10 of the charts within the last fortnight and has been steadily making its way up to the #1 spot. The third single from their new album, Startin’ Something is a joyful fusion of country, rock and pop and in the short time since its release, has already amassed more than one million online streams. The fact that all of the singles released from Kids On Cassette – No Brakes and Anybody Ever – all sat at #1 is something the duo couldn’t be more proud of.
Celebrating the release of their latest album on the day the single hits #1 is particularly poignant. “We are just so stoked to hear that Startin’ Something has hit number one,” says Nick Wolfe. “It’s been a huge effort from our team to coordinate this song with two bands on opposite sides of the world, so to share this number one with our mates LOCASH, and coming on the day of the album release, feels amazing. We’ll be celebrating with a few virtual shots with Chris and Preston over FaceTime until we can all get together and play this one live in the flesh someday down the track. As always, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all at radio for getting behind us on Startin’ Something.”
For their mates across the globe, LOCASH couldn’t be more excited. “Love these brothers,” says Chris. “When we first heard Startin’ Something we knew it was headed for number one.” Preston agrees. “It feels incredible to be on top Down Under,” he says.

The Wolfe Brothers new album – Kids On Cassette – reflects back to their origins, as the names suggests, and the boys have captured the vibe of the music they grew up with. It is a party album and the passion that Tom and Nick Wolfe embraced for music as youngsters shines through on their new release. Kids On Cassette features a swag of impressive collaborations, from LOCASH, to Amy Sheppard and Jack Jones. The Wolfe Brothers had a plan from the outset for the album – make a record jam-packed with songs that would work anywhere, anytime, and most importantly, on any live stage. They have certainly achieved this goal with Kids On Cassette. On Apple Music Australia’s Album Charts, the album is currently at #1 on the Country Chart and #3 on the All Genre Chart.
Kids On Cassette was predominantly recorded at Nick’s studio, Wolfe’s Lair, and was produced by Nick Wolfe. The album also features the band’s ‘dream team’ of producers with Matt Fell (Shane Nicholson, John Williamson, Travis Collins, Graeme Connors), Johnny Gaspsric (Lindsay Ell, Snoop Dogg, Gord Bamford) and Linsday Rimes (Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, Kylie Minogue). Matt Fell also produced the band’s last album Country Heart. All four of the band’s studio albums have debuted at #2 on the ARIA charts and #1 on the Australian Country Music Album Charts. The band have been nominated for 16 Country Music Awards of Australia, and they took home three Golden Guitars in 2019 for Group Of The Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.
The singles released from Kids On Cassette have certainly been garnering the band acclaim. In May 2020, The Wolfe Brothers released the first single from album, No Brakes, a bold track which saw the duo moving full speed ahead into their forthcoming album. It hit #1 on the Country Charts, making it the band’s 13th consecutive Country Number One. The follow-up single, Anybody Ever, an anthemic 80’s style jam – released in October 2020 – saw the band achieve their 14th #1. Now, their collaboration with LOCASH on Startin’ Something, sees their 15th consecutive #1 on the Country Airplay Charts.
Kids On Cassette is available internationally through BBR Music Group / BMG from today. Startin’ Something is at radio now. For more information, please visit HERE.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
