Singer-songwriter and budding producer Thea Fitzgerald has launched her new project THIA. a confident and free expression of experience and femininity.

To celebrate the launch of the new project, THIA. has released her debut single ‘Underwriter’; a layered electro-pop track that questions the constraints we often place on ourselves due to social pressure.

A result of collaboration with producer Hamish Patrick, ‘Underwriter’ explores the not only complications born of a fairly one-sided relationship, but also general uncertainty.

“‘Underwriter’ is a reflection on the rules and regulations we often place on ourselves. The track allowed me to explore the difficulty we often have with coming to terms with and acting on our gut, rather than what we think we need or should want,” said THIA.

Patrick’s experience with RnB and pop created an emotive soundboard for THIA.’s formal vocal training perfectly encapsulating the tug-of-war theme of ‘Underwriter’.

“I tried to encapsulate this relationship between heart and head through the contrast of the intense verses and the openness and freedom in the chorus,” said THIA.

THIA.’s clear focus on strong, sassy and layered vocals is a tribute to her concrete education in soul and neo-jazz. An underlying shade of soul is combined with RnB, pop and dance influences to create vibrant and colourful music.
