line-up announcement
NEWCASTLE & SANDSTONE POINT
February 2021

Get ready to send it. It’s been a long time between drinks and the 2021 summer is calling. Thirst-trapping across two locations, the THIS THAT line up is here and we love to see it!
Returning to Newcastle for its sixth year and to Queensland for the first time, THIS THAT stays true to its respected brand of party starter acts, epic headliners and full-service vibes. Always sold out, always the biggest day on the Newcastle calendar, the team bring the event north for its first Sunshine State appearance on Saturday 13 February at the breezy, picturesque Sandstone Point Hotel, QLD with kick-ons at the ol’ faithful Wickham Park in Newcastle, NSW on Saturday 20 February.
The class of 2021 is finally here – featuring a 100% Aussie line up, topped with the nations’ favourite dance-floor fillers. THIS STAGE and THAT STAGE will be at both locations, filled to the brim with a mix of electronic, hip hop, pop and rock.
A summer festival is not complete without Australia’s own ‘godfather of house’ Hayden James. Heading up proceedings at both locations this absolute weapon producer is sure to bring his best ammo and special guests for a massive finish each weekend. Prime Perth production Crooked Colours will also make their way across East with their ‘Flow’ of mellow dance beats and lucid visual projections. Is it even a real party unless loveable larrikins Dune Rats are on the bill? Set to tear up their first festival since the release of 2020 album ‘Hurry Up And Wait’, there’s no more waiting friends – they’re joined on the bill by fellow ratbags The Chats in Newcastle too. Also joining to ‘Feed The Rhythm’ with synths and effervescence are the iconic Client Liaison. Known for their impressive live shows, expect a set filled with 80s-inspired dance tracks, neon dreams and eccentric dance moves. Exclusive to Newcastle and ready to throw down with high energy tracks and slick soundscapes is electronic producer and remix king WHAT SO NOT who’ll be running up the BPM at Wickham Park. Also joining the NSW bill are pop duo Confidence Man to ‘make you feel good’, as well as rapper ChillinIT and ‘Dribble’ and ‘Peacemaker’ newcomer Sycco.
Slowing the BPM but not the buzz are Australian indie-pop royalty Mallrat, Jack River and San Cisco for epic sing-alongs plus R&B queens WAFIA and Kota Banks to bring the vibes. For those who missed the dance floor in 2020, THIS THAT delivers. Two of the country’s best are going back-to-back with Badrapper VS Luude and THIS THAT’s favourite hype hitter, Enschway returns. They’re joined on the bill by trap queen Sippy too.
Appearing only in Brisbane, are none other than previous THIS THAT headliners and electronic music royalty The Presets who are sure to leave audiences with an irreplaceable feeling of wonderment. Joining them are alternative rock legends The Rubens who have jumped through ‘Hoops’ to bring you their charming set of favourite songs. We know everyone’s been feeling ‘Restless’ for some primo live music ‘After All This Time’, so the THIS THAT team have invited Australian favourite Allday for Brisbane’s leg, while the high-energy dance-pop trio Haiku Hands will ‘Dare You Not To Dance’.
There’s plenty more artists to be announced soon including a full line up for THIS THAT’s ‘THE OTHER’, always a magical enclave full of wonder and surprise for those looking to venture away from the main stages. As always the festival has those VIP ‘big tings’ including the ALL THAT VIP tickets up for grabs. Why not start the year with a full festy experience including a stage-front viewing lounge with extra services and VIP-only facilities such as powder rooms glitter bars. Don’t act like that doesn’t tickle your fancy. There’s no excuse with pre-sale open tomorrow for members, and general on sale this Thursday 12 November from 9am local time.
THIS THAT is going back-to-back in 2021 with plans to hold the festival in both February and October/November next year. With extensive forward planning already in place, last week the festival released a COVID 19 ticketing plan with clear information on how ticketholders will be affected in the event of capacity restrictions and/or postponement. The festival team is working with all levels of Government to ensure the February events can happen as planned in a COVID-19 world. Safety measures will be in place and with the health safety of ticket holders the number one priority.
2020 has been a jerk. Don’t let that stop you. The wait is almost over. Summer is coming. Get on it.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
