Paul Kelly’s Christmas Train pulls into the station

The Christmas season is officially here as Paul Kelly’s Christmas Train pulls into the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart, while Songs of Disappearance’s Australian Frog Calls makes a #3 debut.
Paul Kelly’s Christmas Train tops the #2 peak position it reached upon the album’s release last year at #1.
ARIA CEO, Annabelle Herd, said: “Two Aussie Christmas albums at #1 two weeks in a row is an amazing result and one more thing to celebrate as we enter the festive season. Congratulations to Paul for his success, it’s fantastic to see such an accomplished and important national story teller continue to reach new heights.”
After a stunning peak at #2 on the Albums Chart in 2021 with Australian Bird Calls, Songs of Disappearance is back in action with Australian Frog Calls, a collaborative project of Australia Museum FrogID project, the Bowerbird Collective, Listening Earth and Mervyn Street of Mangkaja Arts. The album features calls from 43 of Australia’s most threatened frogs and aims to raise awareness for Australia’s declining frog population.
Barnsey also holds a top 5 spot with Blue Christmas, falling to #4 after a #1 debut last week. Rounding out the Christmas albums in the top 10, Michael Bublé’s Christmas climbs to #8 and Andrea, Matteo and Virgina Bocelli’s A Family Christmas sits at #9.
In international album debuts, Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains enters the Albums Chart at #5, while BTS leader RM makes a debut with Indigo at #15 followed by Adalita at #16 with Inland.
To round things out, the track of the season, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, continues to rocket up the Singles Chart to #3, up from #11 last week and #50 the week prior.

I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
