Kylie continues to climb
.Niall Horan is back this week with a #1 debut on the ARIA Albums Chart, while Kylie Minogue reaches another chart high for Padam Padam on the Singles Chart.
The Show, by former One Direction member Niall Horan, is his third studio album. Before now he had bagged two #2 albums: Flicker in 2017 and Heartbreak Weather in 2020. The lead single from The Show, Heaven, peaked at #30 earlier this year. One Direction had four #1 albums here: Up All Night in 2011, Take Me Home in 2012, Midnight Memories in 2013 and Four in 2014.
In more new album news, Six by American band Extreme debuts at #32. It is their sixth album and their first studio album since Saudades de Rock 15 years ago.
A reissue of Savage Garden’s self-titled debut album arrives at #2 on the Vinyl Albums Chart. It is a vinyl reissue of their 1997 album, which sold 15 million copies worldwide and spawned the hits I Want You, To The Moon And Back and Truly Madly Deeply. The album hit #1 here in April 1997 and spent 19 non-consecutive weeks on top, collecting 11 ARIA Awards in 1997 and 1998, plus an IFPI Platinum Europe Award.
On the Singles Chart, Sprinter by Dave and Central Cee spends its second week at #1, while two other tracks by the UK artists debut this week: Trojan Horse at #58 and UK Rap at #63.
Fast Car by American country superstar Luke Combs steps up from #5 to #3, beating the #4 peak of the original version by Tracy Chapman in 1988. With Morgan Wallen’s former #1 Last Night holding at #2, it means two of the top three songs are by American country singers.
Padam Padam by Kylie Minogue keeps climbing, up from #40 to a new high of #29, beating the #39 spot it reached four weeks ago. It is her 43rd top 30 hit here and her first since Timebomb peaked at #12 in 2012.
The highest new entry on the Singles Chart this week is Take Two by Korean superstars BTS, coming in at #60. Their biggest hit here has been Dynamite, which peaked at #2 in 2020.
