Album Highlights: 

#1: Soundtrack ‘Encanto’ – In its eleventh week on the ARIA Albums Chart, the soundtrack to the Disney animated film Encanto hits #1 for the first time. Featuring songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the album debuted at #29 at the start of January before hitting the Top Ten for the first time in its second week on the chart and staying there for every week since. This week, there are three Encanto tracks in the Top 50: ‘We Don’t Talk About Bruno’ (#8), ‘Surface Pressure’ (#22) and ‘The Family Madrigal’ (#50).

#3: Missy Higgins ‘Total Control’ – Missy Higgins claims her seventh Top Ten entry on the ARIA Albums Chart, debuting at #3 with Total Control. The mini-album is the ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter’s first collection of all-new material since Solastalgia (#7 Dec. ’18). The material on Total Control was inspired by music Higgins created for the ABC TV series of the same name. It includes her version of The Motels’ 1979 hit ‘Total Control’.

#10: Foo Fighters ‘Greatest Hits’ – A week on from performing their one-off show in Geelong as part of the Victorian initiative Always Love, Foo Fighters jump back into the Top Ten from #32 to #10 with their compilation Greatest Hits. Hitting #1 on release in 2009, this is the first week it has appeared in the Top Ten since January 2010. It’s the album’s 119th week in the Top 50.

#25: Sabaton ‘The War To End All Wars’ – Swedish metal band Sabaton score their third ARIA Top 50 entry as they debut at #25 with The War To End All Wars. The group’s tenth album is the sequel to The Great War (#7 Jul. ’19), and like its predecessor is a concept album about World War I.

Singles Highlights:

#1: Glass Animals ‘Heat Waves’ – ‘Heat Waves’ by British band Glass Animals notches up an eighth week at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Since returning to #1 last week, 47 weeks after last hitting the peak, the single has gone to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time. ‘Heat Waves’ became Glass Animals’ first US #1 59 weeks after making its debut on the chart.

#19: Camila Cabello Feat. Ed Sheeran ‘Bam Bam’ – Camila Cabello scores her first Singles Chart entry for 2022 with the Ed Sheeran-featured ‘Bam Bam’ debuting at #19. It’s the second single to come from Cabello’s forthcoming third album, Familia (due on 8 April) after ‘Don’t Go Yet’ (#43 Aug. ’21).

#21: Labrinth ‘I’m Tired’ – British singer-songwriter/producer Labrinth takes out a second chart entry in as many weeks as ‘I’m Tired’ debuts at #21. Like last week’s entry, ‘All Of Us’ (#49 Mar. ’22), ‘I’m Tired’ comes from the soundtrack to the TV series Euphoria and is a collaboration with actress/singer Zendaya.

#27: SUPER-Hi ‘Following The Sun’ – British production duo SUPER-Hi make their ARIA Charts debut at #27 with ‘Following The Sun’. Consisting of George Tizzard and Rick Parkhouse, the pair have also collaborated under the Red Triangle moniker since 2012, working with the likes of Take That, James Arthur, David Guetta, Ronan Keating and Lukas Graham.

#29: Tyga & Doja Cat ‘Freaky Deaky’ – Teaming up for the collaboration ‘Freaky Deaky’, American duo Tyga and Doja Cat debut at #29. The track comes from Tyga’s forthcoming album and becomes his first entry on the Singles Chart since ‘Haute’. This week Doja Cat is also on the chart with ‘Kiss Me More’ (#24) and ‘Woman’ (#28).

#31: Elley Duhé ‘Middle Of The Night’ – American singer-songwriter Elley Duhé takes out her first solo appearance on the Singles Chart with ‘Middle Of The Night’. Duhé previously appeared on the chart with Zedd and the song ‘Happy Now’ (#27 Sept. ’18). ‘Middle Of The Night’ has become a popular song on TikTok in recent times.

#35: Dave ‘Starlight’ – Debuting at #35, ‘Starlight’ becomes British hip hop artist Dave’s second ARIA Top 50 entry. The artist, who recently won Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act at the 2022 Brit Awards, first appeared on the chart last year with ‘Clash’ (#29 Aug. ’21).

#48: Jaymes Young ‘Infinity’ – Five years after its initial release, ‘Infinity’ by American singer-songwriter Jaymes Young could make its chart debut at #48. First appearing on Young’s 2017 debut album Feel Something, it became viral on TikTok in late-2021 and has subsequently appeared in over 5 million videos.
