Album Highlights:
#1: The Wiggles ‘ReWiggled’ – Australian music icons The Wiggles have scored their first ever #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, debuting in the top spot with ReWiggled. The first disc of the double album is a tribute album of the Wiggles’ songs reinterpreted by Australian artists, including The Chats, DZ Deathrays, Spacey Jane, Dami Im, Polish Club, Custard, Emily Wurramara and more. Disc two is a studio album by The Wiggles covering some of their all-time favourite songs such as Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, Rihanna’s ‘Umbrella’, The Chats’ ‘Pub Feed’, The White Stripes’ ‘We’re Going To Be Friends’, AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’, and their take on Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’, which took out #1 in the Triple J Hottest 100. The album comes just over a decade on from an earlier tribute album, ReWiggled: A Tribute To The Wiggles (#25 Nov. ’11). The Wiggles’ previous highest peak on the chart was with both Nursery Rhymes 2 (#3 Mar. ’18), and We’re All Fruit Salad!: The Wiggles’ Greatest Hits(#3 Mar. ’21). ReWiggled becomes the fourth Australian #1 album on the ARIA Charts in 2022.
Blue Wiggle Anthony Field said, “If you’d said to me at the beginning of the year that The Wiggles would have a #1 ARIA album, I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s such an incredible feeling, and I want to thank everyone who has supported us on our 30-year journey. 2022 just keeps getting better; we’re back touring again, just last weekend we were singing with 10,000 adult fans at the Rod Laver Arena… and now this – thank you!”
Purple Wiggle Lachy Gillespie, who sang vocals on the Like a Version cover of Tame Impala’s ‘Elephant’, added, “Achieving a #1 ARIA Album position is such an honour and is testament to the Wiggles’ enduring popularity with children and adults alike. I want to thank everyone who bought the album, all the amazing artists that covered our songs, and the artists that allowed us to add a little Wiggly flair to their songs.”
Red Wiggle Simon Pryce added, “What an absolute honour for The Wiggles to have the ARIA #1 album! I’d like to thank all the incredible artists that contributed to the success, including The Polish Club, San Cisco and Dami Im. Their creative reimagining of Wiggles songs have been so well done. My personal highlight was singing all the parts to ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. It’s not often you get to cover a song by legends like Queen!”
Yellow Wiggle Tsehay Hawkins said, “Wow! It’s absolutely amazing to have the #1 ARIA Album! I’ve only been performing with The Wiggles for a short time, and there have been so many wonderful experiences. From touring and getting to perform for so many children, to performing at Mardi Gras for all the rainbow families and winning the triple J Hottest 100. I’m so excited and honoured to continue on this journey with The Wiggles and to see what we do next!”
ARIA Chief Executive Officer, Annabelle Herd, said: “The Wiggles have played such an important part in the lives of so many Australians it’s an absolute pleasure to congratulate them on their very first #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. ReWiggled is a triumph for the band, but also for Australian artists, it not only celebrates the depth and diversity of Australian music but becomes our fourth Australian album in five weeks to top the chart.”
#2: Rex Orange County ‘Who Cares?’ – Rex Orange County grabs his second ARIA Top Ten entry, debuting at #2 with Who Cares? The English singer-songwriter’s fourth album comes just over two years on from Pony (#4 Nov. ’19) and includes a collaboration with rapper Tyler, The Creator on the single ‘Open A Window’. Between albums, Rex Orange County charted with a re-release of his debut album, Bcos U Will Never B Free (#28 Sept. ’20).
#3: Ghost ‘Impera’ – Swedish metal band Ghost take out their highest ever peak on the ARIA Albums Chart as they debut at #3 with Impera. The group’s fifth album becomes their second Top Ten, following on from Prequelle (#7 Jun. ’18). Impera is #1 on this week’s ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart.
#7: Hoodoo Gurus ‘Chariot Of The Gods’ – ARIA Hall Of Fame members the Hoodoo Gurus make their first chart appearance in a decade, debuting at #7 with Chariot Of The Gods. The quartet’s tenth studio album is their first since Purity Of Essence (#16 Mar. ’10) and gives them their first appearance in the Top Ten since Crank (#2 Feb. ’94). The Hoodoo Gurus last charted with the compilation Gold Watch: 20 Golden Greats (#15 Mar. ’12).

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
