Singles Chartifacts:
#1: Jawsh 685 x Jason Derulo ‘Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)’
After dropping to #2 for a week, New Zealand producer Jawsh 685 and American R&B star Jason Derulo return to #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart with ‘Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)’. As it hits its fifth week in the top spot, the song equals OMC’s ‘How Bizarre’ (#1 Apr. ’96) for the longest run at #1 on the chart by a Kiwi artist.
#3: Billie Eilish ‘My Future’
Billie Eilish scores her second Top Ten single for 2020 as she releases ‘My Future’. The track is the American singer-songwriter’s first new single since the James Bond theme ‘No Time To Die’ (#4 Feb. ’20) and becomes her tenth career Top Ten. The video for ‘My Future’ was directed by Australian Andrew Onorato.
#14: Nea ‘Some Say’
Notching up its seventh week in the Top 50, Swedish singer Nea’s ‘Some Say’ jumps up nine spots to score a new peak at #14, three places above its previous best.
#18: Pop Smoke ‘The Woo’
The late American rapper Pop Smoke takes out a new Singles Chart peak as ‘The Woo’ climbs twelves spots to #18. He also grabs a second entry in this week’s Top 50, debuting at #34 with ‘Mood Swings’. Both tracks come from the recent #1 album Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon (#1 Jul. ’20).
#20: Joel Corry, MNEK ‘Head & Heart’
British producers Joel Corry and MNEK team up on ‘Head & Heart’. It’s the second chart appearance for Corry this year after ‘Sorry’ (#40 Jan. ’20) and MNEK’s return to the Top 50 for the first time since ‘Never Forget You’ (#3 Nov. ’15). The single has spent two weeks at #1 in the UK.

Albums Chartifacts:
#1: Taylor Swift ‘folklore’
Taylor Swift maintains the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart for a second straight week with folklore. Of the American’s six #1 albums, 1989 (Oct ‘14) has spent the most time in the top spot with nine weeks.
#2: Hockey Dad ‘Brain Candy’
Wollongong duo Hockey Dad score their second Top Ten album and a new peak as they release Brain Candy. It’s their third LP, coming just over two years since Blend Inn (#6 Feb. ’18). One of the album’s singles, ‘I Missed Out’, was #60 in this year’s Triple J Hottest 100. Brain Candy debuts at #1 on the ARIA Vinyl Albums Chart this week.
#3: Paul Kelly & Paul Grabowsky ‘Please Leave Your Light On’
ARIA winners Paul Kelly and Paul Grabowsky team up for the new album Please Leave Your Light On. The album features newly arranged versions of nine songs from Kelly’s catalogue, as well as the previously unreleased ‘True to You’ and a cover of Cole Porter’s ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’. It’s the second album from ARIA Hall Of Fame inductee Kelly in 2020, having released the digital-only Forty Days in June. For Grabowsky it’s the follow-up to Tryst, 2019’s ARIA Award-winning collaboration with Kate Ceberano.
#8: Travis Collins ‘Wreck Me’
Australian country singer-songwriter Travis Collins hits the ARIA Top Ten for the first time with Wreck Me. Collins’s seventh album comes two years on from Brave And The Broken (#15 Aug. ’18), which was the previous highest chart peak for the six-time Golden Guitar winner.
#10: Alanis Morissette ‘Such Pretty Forks In The Road’
Alanis Morissette returns with her first album in eight years, Such Pretty Forks In The Road. The follow-up to Havoc And Bright Lights (#22 Sept. ’12) is the Canadian singer-songwriter’s ninth studio album and the first to appear in the Top Ten since Under Rug Swept (#1 Mar. ’02). It includes the single ‘Smiling’, which is one of the two new tracks written for the stage musical based on Morissette’s mega-hit Jagged Little Pill (#1 May ’96).
#12: E^ST ‘I’m Doing It’
Australian indie pop act E^ST makes her Top 50 debut with I’m Doing It. The first album from Melissa Bester under the E^ST moniker comes after she released four EPs between 2014 and 2018. The single ‘Talk Deep’ was #70 in the Triple J Hottest 100 of 2019.
#19: Split Enz ‘True Colours (40th Anniversary)
The fifth studio album from ARIA Hall Of Fame members Split Enz re-enters the Top 50 on the back of a reissue to mark 40 years since its release. The new edition of True Coloursfeatures a new mix by band member Eddie Rayner. Like with the original release, the album cover comes in a number of different colour combinations; there are also four different colours of vinyl available. True Colours hit #1 on the Albums Chart in Australia in 1980, the first of three Enz albums to do so.
#45: Tuka ‘Nothing In Common But Us’
Thundamentals member Tuka releases Nothing In Common But Us. It’s his fourth solo album and the first since Life Death Time Eternal (#6 Jul. ’15), which was nominated for Best Urban Album at the 2015 ARIA Awards. Between Tuka’s solo albums, Thundamentals released both Everyone We Know (#2 Feb. ’17) and I Love Songs (#9 Oct. ’18).
