It’s an all-new top 10 on the ARIA Singles Chart this week, as Christmas music exits in a rush and newer favourites charge back up the chart.
Last week’s #1, Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You, vanishes from the top 50, along with 33 other Christmas tracks.
Sam Smith and Kim Petras’ Unholy flies from #13 last week back to the top spot, giving it five non-consecutive weeks at #1; it also reclaims the #1 spot on the new music singles chart. The return of Unholy to the top comes hard on the heels of the announcement that Kim will headline Sydney World Pride’s closing concert, Rainbow Republic, on Sunday 5 March.
SZA’s Kill Bill grabs the runner-up spot on this week’s Singles Chart, jumping from #12 last week, while former #1 smash I’m Good (Blue) by David Guetta and Bebe Rexha vaults from #25 to #3.
On track to reach #1 in the UK this week, Escapism. by new British star RAYE (featuring 070 Shake) claims a new peak on the Australian chart at #7. Australia’s #1 song of 2022, Harry Styles’ As It Was, makes a strong comeback, up 25 places to #9.
On the Albums Chart, the #1 album of 2022 – Taylor Swift’s Midnights – stays on top for the 9th non-consecutive week (she also has another four albums in the top 40) and SZA’s SOS steps up a spot to #2.

We also celebrate the unique and inspiring creativity and songlines of the world’s oldest living culture and give thanks for the immeasurable influence First Nations people continue to have over the music and art we all enjoy.
AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
