. . . . . . . . . . . My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences. Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”. Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook. Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere. This week’s
ARIA CHARTSA double Aussie top 10 debut
Morgan Wallen breaks a country music record
Boy & Bear and new Australian supergroup, The Barnestormers, make top 10 debuts in this week’s ARIA Albums Chart, as Morgan Wallen breaks Billy Ray Cyrus’ record on the Singles Chart.
Sydney band Boy & Bear’s eponymous album takes #4. It is their fifth studio album and fourth top 5 after Moonfire reached #2 in 2011, and 2013’s Harlequin Dream and 2015’s Limit Of Love both hit #1.
Rockabilly supergroup, The Barnestormers, break the top 10 at #3 with the debut of their self-titled album. The band features Jimmy Barnes on vocals, The Living End’s Chris Cheney on guitar, Stray Cats’ Slim Jim Phantom on drums, producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley on bass, and UK music legend Jools Holland.
At #1 is Midnights by Taylor Swift, jumping from #7 last week thanks to the release of the Til Dawn edition. This is the album’s first time at #1 since February this year, marking its 13th non-consecutive week at the top.
Where The Light Goes by Matchbox Twenty debuts at #2. It is the band’s fifth studio album and first since 2012. They have four previous ARIA #1 albums: Yourself Or Someone Like You in 1996, Mad Season in 2000, Exile On Mainstream (a greatest hits album) in 2007 and North in 2012.
Almost Healed by Lil Durk is new at #32, marking his first ARIA top 50 after 7720 peaked at #29 last year, and the tragic news of Tina Turner’s passing last week has seen her continue to climb as All The Best bounces from #28 last week to #17. Also returning are Private Dancer at #53 and Tina! at #58.
Tina’s single The Best also re-enters at #29 after peaking at #4 in 1989. Her version with Jimmy Barnes reached #14 in 1992. Her biggest Australian hit, What’s Love Got To Do With It, steps back onto the chart at #84.
On the Singles Chart, Last Night by Morgan Wallen makes it eight weeks at #1, becoming the longest-running #1 in Australia by a male American country singer since the ARIA Charts started in 1983, beating Billy Ray Cyrus’ seven-week run with Achy Breaky Heart in 1992.
Karma by Taylor Swift roars from #59 to a new chart peak of #2 after Midnights’ success. It originally hit #9 when the album was released last year; the reissue of Midnights features a remix of the song with Ice Spice. Snow on The Beachby Taylor and Lana Del Rey re-enters at #12, and Hits Different lands on the Singles Chart for the first time at #16; it appeared last year on the Lavender edition of Midnights and is on the Til Dawn edition.
Dua Lipa’s Dance The Night from the upcoming Barbie movie debuts at #22 marking her 21st top 50 single here, stretching back to Be The One, which topped out at #6 in 2015.
Also new at #32 is America Has A Problem by Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar, a remix of a track from her #1 album last year RENAISSANCE.
