Album Highlights:
#1: Ed Sheeran ‘=’ – English pop superstar Ed Sheeran scores his fifth #1 album on the ARIA Charts as he debuts in the top spot with =. Pronounced “equals”, the follow-up to the collaborative album No.6 Collaborations Project(#1 Jul. ‘19) is the singer-songwriter’s fifth studio album and the fourth in his symbol series after + (#1 Aug. ‘12), x (#1 Jun. ‘14) and ÷ (#1 Mar. ‘17). =features the Top Ten tracks ‘Bad Habits’ (#1 Jul. ’21), ‘Visiting Hours’ (3 Aug. ’21), ‘Shivers’ (#2 Nov. ’21) and ‘Overpass Graffiti’ (#8 Nov. ’21). This week, Sheeran has three previous albums in the Top 50: ÷ (#19), x (#47) and No.6 Collaborations Project (#48).
#12: Dami Im ‘My Reality’ – Dami Im takes out her fifth ARIA Top 50 entry as she debuts at #12 with My Reality. It’s the X Factor winner and Eurovisionrunner-up’s sixth album, coming more than three years on from I Hear A Song(#3 Apr. ’18). Im topped the Albums Chart with her self-titled second album (#1 Nov. ’13). She recently competed on Celebrity Masterchef.
#16: Mastodon ‘Hushed And Grim’ – Releasing Hushed And Grim, their first album in four years, American metal band Mastodon claim their sixth ARIA Top 50 entry at #16. The group’s eighth album is a double album and serves as the follow-up to Emperor of Sand (#3 Apr. ’17), which gave them their highest peak in Australia.
#18: Even ‘Reverse Light Years’ – Debuting at #18, Melbourne indie rock legends Even take out their highest ever chart peak and their first Top 50 appearance in 20 years with Reverse Light Years. The trio’s eighth album comes three years on from 2018’s Satin Returns and marks their first double album. Even last appeared in the ARIA Top 50 with their third album, A Different High (#48 May ’01).
#21: The War On Drugs ‘I Don’t Live Here Anymore’ – American indie rockers The War On Drugs take out their third career chart entry as they debut at #21 with I Don’t Live Here Anymore. The fifth album from the Philadelphia group is their first studio release since A Deeper Understanding (#5 Sept. ’17) four years ago, Between albums, The War On Drugs released the live LP LIVE DRUGS in November 2020.

Singles Highlights:
#1: Elton John & Dua Lipa ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ – ‘Cold Heart (Pnau Remix)’ by Elton John & Dua Lipa hits #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Debuting at #7 in late August, the track has spent all of its twelve weeks on the chart in the Top Ten, including five straight weeks at #2. It becomes Elton John’s first #1 single in Australia since ‘Something About the Way You Look Tonight’ / ‘Candle in the Wind 1997’ (#1 Sept. ’97). At 74 years, 7 months and 14 day, the legendary singer-songwriter becomes the oldest artist to hit the top of the ARIA Singles Chart, overtaking Paul McCartney. It’s Dua Lipa’s first ARIA Singles Chart #1, after having eight previous Top Ten entries. Last week, Elton John debuted at #2 with The Lockdown Sessions.
#2: Ed Sheeran ‘Shivers’ – As well as topping the Albums Chart this week with =, Ed Sheeran has also made significant moves on the Singles Chart. The album’s second single ‘Shivers’ has jumped up three spots to hit a new peak at #2. The English singer-songwriter has also grabbed debuts this week with ‘Overpass Graffiti’ (#8), ‘First Times’ (#31) and ‘Tides’ (#43). Meanwhile, ‘Visiting Hours’, his tribute to the late Michael Gudinski, has re-entered at #29.
#10: The Anxiety ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’ – American duo The Anxiety move up one spot to hit #10 with ‘Meet Me At Our Spot’. Its move comes eight weeks into its run in ARIA Top 50. The track comes from the self-titled debut album by the pair – Willow Smith and Tyler Cole – which was released in March 2020. In recent times, it’s become a popular song on TikTok, where it’s known as the ‘caught a vibe’ song.
#20: NEIKED & Mae Muller Feat. Polo G ‘Better Days’ – Swedish producer NEIKED and English singer-songwriter Mae Muller make their Top 50 debuts as they hit #20 with the Polo G-featured collaboration ‘Better Days’. The track has already hit the Top 50 in the US, New Zealand and Ireland.
