ARIA CHARTS

King Gizzard land three in the top 15

The Beatles are back while Midnights holds the Singles Chart

.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Australia’s busiest band and apparent anti-sleep advocates King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have worked some serious magic on the Albums Chart this week, landing three records in the top 15 to coincide with the debut of their 23rd album, Changes, landing at #4.

The two-time Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album winning act also secured #6 with Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava, and #11 with Laminated Denim; both of which were released earlier in the month. Vinyl sales continue to be an enormous driver for the band’s success, with Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava topping this week’s Vinyl Chart, Laminated Denimlanding at #3 and Changes coming in at #4.

With 16 ARIA #1 albums and 27 #1 singles, The Beatles are back on the charts for the super deluxe rerelease of their seventh studio album, Revolver, at #2. Originally released in 1966, the album features five discs of outtakes and rehearsals, alongside beloved singles like Eleanor Rigby and Got To Get You Into My Life. The Foo Fighters land at #5 on the Albums Chart with their first major release since the tragic passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins, The Essential.

Taylor Swift’s Midnights continues its run of incredible success, again landing #1 on the Albums Chart alongside six places in the Singles Chart top 10, with Anti-Hero claiming the top spot for a second week. Rihanna also makes a very welcome return to music with the release of Lift Me Up, her first new single in six years, debuting at #5.
