Tia Gostelow today announces her eagerly anticipated national headline tour from September-November 2023 in support of her forthcoming album Head Noise, out 18 August.

The tour, supported by triple j and Psycho Touring, kicks off in Townsville on 29 September before moving on to Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast, with handpicked supports from Tia’s favourite new artists in each location.

Ahead of the official album tour, Tia is set to perform at her self-created festival Sugardrop Festival in her hometown of Mackay on 16 September.

To accompany the news, Tia Gostelow has also released new single ‘Early Twenties’, an introspective comfort song for anyone in the midst of their early twenties or about to make their way into them.

Tia says of the track, “I wanted to highlight all of the feelings and emotions of being in your early twenties. Sometimes it can feel like your world is in pieces, a lot of ‘firsts’ are happening, and hearts get broken. I hope that when people listen to ‘Early Twenties’, they know it’s absolutely okay not to know who you are yet. I still don’t, but all we can do is try our best, and that’s all that matters.”

Speaking to the song’s recording and production process, Tia and her band kept it live and raw, procuring sonic influences from alternative rock band Hole. Tia elaborates, “For the song’s production, we drew big inspiration from Courtney Love and Hole with the ‘Ooh’s’ sprinkled throughout the choruses. I feel like this element really completes the song.”

Tia’s fearless approach to songwriting has seen her soar from strength to strength since arriving on the scene, earning acclaim from industry tastemakers nationwide for her ability to craft epic pop constructs to sing ‘n’ dance to.

In 2018, Tia’s certified GOLD debut album Thick Skin sent folkesque reverberations around Australia, earning her the Queensland Music Award for Album of the Year and a coveted Triple J feature album slot and includes certified PLATINUM single ‘Strangers’.

2020 heralded a new sonic direction for Tia as she uncovered the disco-pop prowess of her sophomore album CHRYSALIS which hit number #1 Album on the AIR charts.

Over the last two years, Tia spent time soaking up experiences: conversations with friends, words on paper, and of course, an endless stream of playlist choruses. For Head Noise, Tia worked with Producer Chris Collins (Middle Kids/Skeggs).
