Better Than You is an alternative pop track that blurs the lines between anger and love. Written, recorded, and produced by the song’s artist Tiarn Toni, Better Than You, explores the emotions we feel when the people we think are close to us hurt, disappoint, and sometimes betray us. Apparent from the song’s title alone, Better Than You features lyrics that cut straight to the heart, with lines that we all wish we could say to someone.

Although the lyrics cry out as an act of vengeance, the production of Tiarn’s soft but raspy vocal, along with atmospheric textures and brooding cinematic piano, crystallises the hurt this song is inspired from, creating an equilibrium that is reflected throughout the track. With the addition of reverberant vocal harmonies, airy pads, and a structure that undulates between light and dark, Better Than You is a song that submerges listeners into a story of betrayal, and invites them to cry out for revenge as if it’s their own.

ABOUT ME
Hello, I’m Tiarn Toni, a singer-songwriter and producer based in Naarm (Melbourne), Victoria.
New to the music scene, I’ve spent most of my life working in the dance industry as an educator and choreographer until a few years ago when I sustained an injury that left me searching for another path in life. Music has always filled my soul and was the core inspiration behind my love of dance and choreography so it was only a matter of time before I realised that music could fill the hole that dance left.
ABOUT THE MUSIC
As a deeply creative and multi-disciplinary artist, I like to explore music through the lens of dance and design, using my unique past experiences to create raw and delicate lyrics paired with acoustic infused electronic music. After the success of my debut compositional work for Scimm. Dance Company in 2022, with a soundtrack centred around the fusion of dark experimental beats and delicate raw piano orchestration, I am now now experimenting with a new sound as an alternative pop artist, releasing a series of singles throughout this year.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
