Today Tourist celebrates the imminent release of his second album Everyday and the announcement of headline shows in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne this March by releasing new track Love Theme. In support of his new record, Will Phillips aka Tourist will be making his way to Australian shores this March for headline shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and the newly announce Sydney which goes on sale tomorrow.
On the new track taken from Everyday Tourist said “Love Theme is the one collaborative track on my album. It started with my friend Shura playing me this demo she had of her and a piano with the lyrics “I don’t want to be the centre of attention but, I want your love”. That sentiment really resonated with me, that feeling of longing for someone’s affection but also realising that in itself can be an unattractive quality, I like the duality of that sentiment, and Love Theme is me exploring that territory.”
Counting artists such as Flume and Porter Robinson as fans, Tourist known heavily as an artist’s artist. His critically acclaimed and triple j feature album U (2016) came following a GRAMMY win for co-writing Sam Smith’s breakout single Stay With Me. Previously he’s released four EP’s include a self-titled debut (2012), Tonight (2013), Patterns (2014) and most recently Wash (2017) with lead single We Stayed Up All Night feat. Ardyn becoming a radio favourite.
Previous singles for the new album Everyday include Apollo, Someone Else, Hearts and the most recent track Emily, a mesmerising and atmospheric dance song that perfectly encapsulates Tourist’s unrivalled talent as a producer and composer.
On the record as a whole Tourist says “Everyday” is my attempt to make an album that reflects my life in a way that is hopefully sincere and honest. I’m happy now, and much of this music is simply the result of me enjoying the creative process and exploring how sounds can make me feel. It’s about being vulnerable, unsure, joyous, bored, wistful and everything in-between that doesn’t fit into being happy or sad. It’s me embracing my everyday experience of being someone who can’t quite believe how lucky he is to do this for a living, and reflecting on what it is to be a husband, brother, son and self.”
Last here for FOMO Festival in 2018, Tourist will be heading back to Australian shores for appearances at Victoria’s Pitch Music & Arts on March 8th-11th and Sydney’s Days Like This Festival on March 9th on top of his headline shows.

AMNPLIFY -DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
