Adelaide pop-punk, self-professed “two-piece puzzle” TOWNS have today dropped the video for their latest single ‘98’ and in true TOWNS style it’s packed full of colour, energy and takes us on a wild ride!  The duo have also released all of their tracks to date on a slick vinyl called TOWNS so far. With the initial run selling out in just 24 hours, be sure to pre-order your copy HERE.

Frontman Aston Valladares gives an insight into the making of the energetic video for ‘98’, “This video brought us back to how we used to make videos in the early days of TOWNS! Just ourselves, a few friends and a fun time. We wanted a simple, wholesome, genuine video that showed the heartfelt nature of the song.”

He goes on to explain why the video wasn’t the easiest to get completed, especially during the midst of a pandemic, “We knew we wanted a video for this song but jamming it in has been the hardest task to pull. In the span of one week we planned the concept, painted & built the set, gathered props (thank you Rach) and filmed this entire music video. Because this was just us and a small team of our closest friends – we feel this is a really good representation of TOWNS. Last minute, spontaneous and under the pump; I’d say that’s how we get our best work done.”

TOWNS are also extremely proud to release their first vinyl, TOWNS so far.  The duo decided to capture everything they’ve done as a band up until the middle of 2021 on vinyl for all your plastic spinning pleasures.  One side is everything from their first EP Television start to finish and the other is the rest of the singles the duo have released, plus two bonus tracks.

‘98’, which has been officially added to triple j, follows on from their most recent single ‘Swimming’, and received an overwhelming response during TOWNS’ tour of the same name, earlier this year.  The single also received overwhelming praise from the likes of Music Feeds, Hysteria and triple j unearthed.

In 2018, TOWNS released their debut EP Television, which swept listeners off their feet from the first spin with its unique blend of 90s pop rock and Australiana. Proving they love all things 90’s the duo have even created a YouTube series TOWNS TV hosting their own nostalgic TV show drawing inspiration from the ever-popular Cheez TV that captivated young Australian’s during the late 90’s.

TOWNS continue to deliver their good-time vibes with their live shows, having already joined fellow Adelaidians Teenage Joans in January this year on a sold out co-headline tour, they also hit the road for their own headline shows and supporting Ruby Fields, playing to packed out venues and bringing the high octane energy they are known for.  They have also previously performed alongside The Jungle Giants, WAAX, Bugs, Dear Seattle, Turnstile (USA), Turnover (USA), Heaps Good Friends, Die Die Die among many others. They’ve also been named ‘Best Rock Group’ two years running for the South Australian Music Awards. They have also been regulars on the festival circuit appearing on the bills of Yours & Owls Festival, Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival and Spin Off Festival.
