Adelaide pop-punk, self-professed “two-piece puzzle”, TOWNS have today released their next energetic offering in the form of latest single ‘98’, in true TOWNS style it’s a track that’s filled with debaucy and chaos. The duo are also super stoked to have been announced as supports for the Ocean Grove tour across Australia in July and August.
Tickets and more info can be found HERE.

Frontman Aston Valladares gives an insight into ‘98’ and why it’s one of their favourite tracks to date,  “98 was an immediate favourite for both of us the second the demo was finished.  I think we felt an instant connection to it because it was pushing our music in a direction we wanted it to go while still feeling familiar. I wanted a fun song about something less heavy than some of our other work and what’s more cheesy than love?”

Aston goes on to describe the feelings behind the track and why they are so relatable to their audience. “I’m sure everyone can relate to the feeling of loving someone or something so much you wanna scream.  I’m sure most people also know someone that no matter how much love you give them they moan and complain and it irritates you cause you wanna force the knowledge of their greatness into their head but they’ve got little barricades of negative minus kicking all the good stuff away. Well, 98 is a song to prove we’ve all felt this and now you can share this song with any of the people in your life that just don’t believe how loved and great they are”.

‘98’ follows on from the duo’s most recent singleSwimming, which was officially added to triple j and received an overwhelming response during TOWNS’ tour of the same name, earlier this year.  The single also received overwhelming praise from the likes of Music Feeds, Hysteria and triple j unearthed.

In 2018, TOWNS released their debut EP Television, which swept listeners off their feet from the first spin with its unique blend of 90’s pop rock and Australiana.  Proving they love all things 90’s the duo have even created a YouTube series TOWNS TV, hosting their own nostalgic TV show drawing inspiration from the ever-popular Cheez TV that captivated young Australian’s attention.  Be sure to check out the latest chaotic episode, HERE.

TOWNS continue to deliver their good-time vibes with their live shows, having already joined fellow Adelaidians Teenage Joans in January this year on a sold out co-headline tour.  They also hit the road for their own headline shows and supported Ruby Fields, playing to sold out venues and bringing the high octane energy they are known for.  Not a band to sit still for very long, the boys are about to pack their bags again, supporting Ocean Grove alongside Jesswar during July and August.  They have also previously performed alongside The Jungle Giants, WAAX, Bugs, Dear Seattle, Turnstile (USA), Turnover (USA), Heaps Good Friends, Die Die Die among many others. They’ve also been named ‘Best Rock Group’ two years running for the South Australian Music Awards and have been regulars on the festival circuit appearing on the bills of Yours & Owls Festival, Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival and Spin Off Festival.

TOWNS have continued to charge into 2021 with an overwhelming sense of furious energy and gusto, with the second half of the year shaping up to be even more chaotic and exciting than the first.
