2019 Hottest 100
will be a historic year

Earlier this week the boffins in the Hottest 100 Tally Room told us that we’d broken the voting record with 3,211,596 votes in the 2019 Hottest 100, up 16.4% from last year.
After crunching a few more numbers, they’ve now come back with some song stats. And just like the countdown, they’re HOT, including the fact that the 2019 Hottest 100 will be a historic year.
Could one of these songs be your favourite?
65 songs appear from Aussie artists, equalling the tally for both 2018 and 2017, and just behind 2016’s Hottest 100 record of 66 Aussie songs
The hottest month was May 2019, with the most amount of entries released that month
17 artists are making their Hottest 100 debut
Language warning! You’ll hear 31 f-bombs in the countdown
9 artists celebrate a Hottest 100 hat-trick, appearing 3 years in a row
We can confirm this will be a historic year!
The only way to find out who will make the countdown for sure is to tune into triple j on Sat 25 Jan as we count down the Hottest 100 songs of the year via your FM radio, digital radio, stream on the triple j website, on mobile via the triple j app (downloadable on iPhone or Android), on social media via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Plus you can check out our Hottest 100 playlists on Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
Why not chip in a donation to this year’s Hottest 100 charity partner Greening Australia while you’re there? They run tree-planting projects across the country to restore natural environments, cool our cities, save endangered animals and pull carbon out of the atmosphere.
Catch you for the countdown tomorrow!

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
