triple j Unearthed
annual search for the
country’s best music acts
in high school has begun!

.
Now in its 13th year, triple j’s Unearthed High competition is back and looking to discover the next George Alice, Arno Faraji, Gretta Ray or Japanese Wallpaper!
All those artists and more have seen great success off the back of entering Unearthed High, via song and album releases, playing at festivals and touring the country. But don’t take our word for it. Let 2019 winner George Alice give you the scoop on how Unearthed High helped kick start her career…
“I didn’t expect anything at all to come from unearthed high, I honestly just wanted to be a part of it and to hopefully learn a thing or two from experience! Not only did I meet so many great people along the way, but I get to do what I’ve always wanted to do and be who I really am. It’s still sinking in a year later, but winning Unearthed High really changed my life and gave me countless opportunities to succeed”, says George Alice.
To enter Unearthed High, simply upload an original piece of music to triple j Unearthed by Midnight Mon 24 August.
As well as the winner receiving top notch music industry advice from the triple j Unearthed team, triple j will help the artist record, mix or master their music, which will be played on triple j and triple j Unearthed.
In addition to being eligible for the major prize, the best Unearthed High entry from an Indigenous artist will win ongoing mentorship from the Association of Artist Managers (AAM), as well as a songwriting workshop for their school by the APRA AMCOS Songmakers program. Last year’s Indigenous winner, Aodhan, scored a writing session with his mentor Josh Pyke, resulting in their song collaboration ‘Drive’ being played on triple j and triple j Unearthed.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be featuring the best Unearthed High songs on triple j and triple j Unearthed. Plus you can stream and download all the 2020 Unearthed High entries on triplejunearthed.com.
From 3:30pm each Weds you’ll also be able to tune into a cool new triple j Unearthed radio segment, ‘The Class of…’, hosted by Unearthed High alumni George Alice, Arno Faraji, Gretta Ray, Hockey Dad and Ninajirachi. Each show will be named after the hosting artist and will feature the best 2020 Unearthed High entries within that artists field. So for ‘The Class of Hockey Dad’ you can expect some sick riffs, ‘The Class of Arno Faraji’ will school you in hip hop, while ‘The Class of George Alice’ will bring you the best pop, and so on. Catch it on triple j Unearthed while you can, from Weds 29 July until Weds 26 August.
Then stay tuned as we announce the 2020 Unearthed High finalists and winner in the coming weeks.

triple j Unearthed – discovering new Australian music
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
