We can’t tell you where (just yet!) but we can tell you that triple j’s massive, FREE all ages One Night Stand concert is back and as stacked as ever.
On Saturday 14 September, we’re bringing a blockbuster bill to a town somewhere in Australia that doesn’t usually have access to epic live music events, and this time we’re joined by Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley, G Flip and a local Unearthed competition winner.
After making history with their latest album The Great Expanse, Australia’s reigning hip hop royalty, Hilltop Hoods, are backing up a massive arena tour with a very free, very fun One Night Stand set. It’s always hit after hit with the Hoods, so expect stacks of rap-a-longs as Suffa, Pressure, DJ Debris and a full band take you through a 25-year back catalogue of gold.
Blessed with one of the biggest voices in the game, Meg Mac’s gone from strength to strength since she was named 2014 Unearthed Artist of the Year. Having just toured Australia on the back of her empowering release Hope, and already working on a new album, we’re in for a treat when Meg takes the stage with her vintage soul, gospel fervour and RnB flair.
Ocean Alley, the jam lords from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, spent years slaying venues across the country before they confidently surfed their way to the top of the 2018 Hottest 100. With a chemistry that can’t be faked and new music to showcase, you’re in for a damn fine show when this six-piece get into their groove.
We first met Melbourne drummer and bedroom producer, G Flip, a year ago. With her animated drumkit ‘Jeromo’ by her side, G Flip blew up triple j Unearthed, scored two Hottest 100 entries, and has smashed it on stages at home and abroad. We just hope she brings her wireless Madonna mic to this year’s One Night Stand.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve taken the big live music experience to regional towns all over the country, accompanied by artists like Flume, Tash Sultana, Peking Duk, Vance Joy, Middle Kids,Violent Soho, Alex The Astronaut, Thundamentals, San Cisco, Alison Wonderland and Dan Sultan we’ve got to know some of the best little towns in Australia, like St Helens, TAS (2018), Mount Isa, QLD (2017) and Geraldton, WA (2016).
Where will it be held this year? Stay tuned on Thursday 27 June as triple j Brekkie boys Ben & Liam announce which regional Australian town will host triple j’s One Night Stand concert in 2019.
If you don’t live in the lucky town or can’t make the road trip – no sweat! We’ll bring all the sets to you in a special live broadcast on your radio and the triple j app on Saturday 14 September. Plus we’ll be sharing videos, photos and music news via socials and the triple j website throughout the day.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
