As triple j’s Requestival rages on, it’s becoming clear that we have two options: go bard or go home.
In a week where we’ve played some seriously cooked requests, perhaps the weirdest trend we’ve seen pop up is the demand for Bardcore songs.
So what in heaven is Bardcore and why dost thou love it?
For those unfamiliar, Bardcore is a genre of music that consists of medieval-inspired remakes of pop songs. And according to the triple j textline, it seems like an alarming amount of you really dig it. Not that we can really blame you… This Bardcore cover of Shakira’s ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ does slap.
