TYNE-JAMES ORGAN RELEASES DEBUT EP – PERSEVERE

NATIONAL TOUR BEGINS OCTOBER 11 – TICKETS ON SALE FROM TYNEJAMESORGAN.COM

After years of hard work and inspiration spawned by overcoming tragedy and celebrating triumph, today Melbourne-via-Wollongong singer-songwriter, Tyne-James Organ, finally releases his long-awaited debut EP, Persevere (out now via Dew Process and Universal Music Australia) and solidifies his reputation as one of this country’s most exciting new stars.

The man known for wearing his heart on his tight, white sleeve has slogged out the last few years with some outstanding singles, including his most recent rocker ‘Something New,’ a track which saw him receive unprecedented support from radio and media outlets and stood proudly alongside previous releases Graceful’ and ‘Watch You Go’.

Persevere now boasts two previously unreleased tracks – the heart-melting ‘Say No More,’ and the simultaneously swagger-drenched and emotionally electrifying acoustic rocker ‘I’ll Get By.’ ‘Say No More’ is a classic, lighter raised high, festival ballad moment waiting to happen. Ethereal and angelic, it showcases the undeniable and genuine emotion and passion Organ has earned a reputation for conveying with his voice through gravelly tenor and soaring falsetto. ‘I’ll Get By’ continues the narrative of grief first explored on ‘Watch You Go,’ that documented his experience of his father’s death, and stands as its counterpart by documenting the viewpoint of his mother in the aftermath of that same tragedy.

“That song was inspired by a conversation of mum getting her haircut. I didn’t intentionally write it as the follow up to ‘Watch You Go,’ but it comes from the same story but a year later and from my mum’s perspective. A story of a haircut in a general conversation usually goes in one ear and out the other but in this case it symbolised so much more than that and represented her being ready to move on. I’ve played that song for my mum and the hardest part about it is seeing Mum’s face when I play it. So, it’s definitely a scary thought to get out but I was so scared to put ‘Watch You Go’ out about Dad and death and I was scared that people wouldn’t get it. If people can connect with this in any way I’ve hit the goal. I think it speaks true again, and it speaks to the people on the other side of loss as well.”

Across all of its five tracks, Persevere is a perfect musical muscle, complete devoid of fatty moments or excess, and stands as the ultimate complement to a career that has been on a steady, yet impressive rise over the last couple of years. Whereas most developing acts are eager to burn through as much music as possible towards reaching success, Organ has been calculating and sensitive to his audience’s expectations. The rawness and earnestness of not only the writing but the performance of his music has delivered him critical attention far and wide, especially from triple j, who have been major champions for OrganA conversation with ABC Music head honcho and triple j host Richard Kingsmill for his 2018 program last year, in particular endeared him to their emphatic listener base, thanks to Organ’s unabashed honesty and knockabout demeanour.

“With this project, I stick to my roots and always keep to the songwriting and want it to be real,” he explains. “I don’t want to write about anything that I don’t understand. How is someone going to connect with that song and feel? I always try to take songs from a very personal and real experience – the loss of my dad, the breakdown of a relationship. The older I’m getting now and in the sense of everything broadening, it’s coming with maturity.”

Along with the development of his song writing career, Organ has been honing his already adept live performance skills, having blown away audiences at this year’s Splendour In The Grass, as well as traveling on the road with his friend and label mate Mallrat and having recently supported The Middle Kids and Lime Cordiale. He’s now poised to head on his largest solo tour of his career to date for the ‘Persevere’ tour. Kicking off in Adelaide on October 11, these shows will be the a great opportunity to catch his show in an intimate setting, before his inevitable rise to stardom kicks into overdrive and you’ll be lining up for front row spots. Don’t miss it!
