LA-based, Nigerian heritage artist and creative Uche delivers his sleek afro cut “Okada”.
Instantly grabbing attention via a notable lyrical intellect and magnetic sound waves, the rising producer, songwriter and vocalist continues to underline himself as a standout new name with his new release. Elevated by infectious percussion and melancholic guitars licks, the self-produced instrumental emerges as a silken amalgamation of nostalgic afro-swing, then laced with Uche’s deep-rooted wordplay touching on poetic justice when exploring a new love interest that blurs the lines between love and lust. “Has love ever driven you crazy? I just wanna get away. Why can’t home & my place of peace be the same thing?” Coming alongside an excitingly high-grade music video, “Okada” will continue the attention around Uche as one of the most exciting emerging talents across the underground.
Born in Chicago before moving to Nigeria, Uche has been surrounded by some of the most vibrant influences across music, culture and community. A natural reflex for vocals was discovered while singing in church choirs across Nigeria, ultimately fuelling the young talent’s desire for performance as his focus progressed towards a deeper, technical side.
Finding refuge back in Chicago allowed Uche to expand and develop his creative arsenal, first releasing music under the moniker Wil Akogu, his sharpened aesthetic seeing him star in a Nike Air Force 1 advert and share centre stage with international superstars Arya Starr and Ty Dolla $ign at Safe N Sound Festival. Quickly rocketing his discography to millions of streams and a key UK freestyle with Charlie Sloth’s Fire In The Booth, the multi-hyphenate shifted his vision to a more authentic, true-to-self sound this year.
Having moved to Los Angeles, his new creative direction as Uche continues on an excitingly fervent upward trajectory: his debut EP Lost gained 100K streams independently and raced to 100K views across its lead video “Movie”. A true homecoming moment now gracing his own subversive sound waves, Uche feels like a significant new voice of authenticity and vision.
Already boasting key co-signs from UK tastemakers incl. BBC 1XTRA and NO SIGNAL, Uche is on a direct path for an international crossover. With a plethora of releases still to come, get ready to hear and see a whole lot more from one of the brightest young creatives in the international landscape right now.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.

I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
