UNIFIED Relaunches As UNIFIED Music Group
Announces Staff Promotions
+ New Melbourne Office
Australian music company UNIFIED has relaunched as UNIFIED Music Group. The company has reorganised and relaunched its business and brand this week, clearly explaining to industry and consumers its standing as a four pillar business that exists to provide services across the music business. Alongside the rebrand, UNIFIED has opened its new Melbourne head office, and announced a series of staff promotions to facilitate its ever expanding business.
Launched at the start of 2011, UNIFIED has been one of the fastest growing companies in the Australian music industry. It was founded by Jaddan Comerford, with the concept of creating a business with four major pillars that all work to improve the lives of artists. The four pillars, as they exist in 2017, are Artist Management, Recorded Music, Touring & Events and Merchandise. The heart of the business has always been respect for the three way relationship between the company, the community and, of course, the clients, who still remain at the centre of all things UNIFIED.
“Looking back at our original statement of intent, none of what we believe has changed,” says Comerford, “but we’ve grown and expanded in such amazing ways that it was time for us to refresh the way we organise our divisions.
“We exist as a company focussed on building careers. Whether this is for a client or a team member that is why I get out of bed in the morning. So in order to do this, we need to be organised, and we need to be very clear about what we are doing and how we are doing it.”
The UNIFIED relaunch will see the business structured via the four pillars which are summarised below:
UNIFIED ARTIST MANAGEMENT
UAM is one of Australia’s leading management companies, with a diverse roster of artists achieving success on a truly global scale, including Amy Shark, Illy, In Hearts Wake, Nina Las Vegas, Northlane, The Amity Affliction, Vance Joy and Violent Soho to name a few.
UNIFIED RECORDED MUSIC
UNIFIED owns and operates four record labels, each with an independent mindset and a vision to create the greatest exposure possible for our artists. Launching in 2011 with flagship heavy music label UNFD, the recorded music division has now expanded to include ONETWO, NLV Records and Exist. Recordings – all labels started in conjunction with management clients. In addition to this, UNIFIED provides label services for US-based independent giant Hopeless Records, and REMI & Sensible J-owned label House Of Beige. In 2016, UNIFIED launched 1825 Records in partnership with Atlantic Records and Matt Emsell.
Under this pillar also operates the impressive UNIFIED Music Publishing. A sleeping giant who recently re-upped with Mushroom Music Publishing, and has been a regular award winner at the annual APRA Awards in Australia.
UNIFIED TOURING AND EVENTS
In 2015, UNIFY: A Heavy Music Gathering was launched as Australia’s first camping festival catering to the heavy music community. Three sold out events later, UNIFY is a world class event bringing in acts from across the globe. In 2016, UNIFY PRESENTS, the touring arm of UNIFIED, was launched in conjunction with LIVE NATION. It has since toured artists like Bring Me The Horizon, Slipknot, A Day To Remember and Architects amongst others.
UNIFIED MERCHANDISE SERVICES
UNIFIED Merchandise Services talented team deliver on a range of innovative offerings for artists and brands. Our dedicated team focus on the consumer experience to offer world class direct to customer e-commerce, fulfilment, manufacturing, touring and online creative services ensuring that each clients vision is executed. With offices now not only in Melbourne, but also Sydney, London and most recently, Los Angeles, where Jaddan is currently based. The Melbourne contingent, which makes up more than three quarters of the staff, recently moved into a new office space in the inner city suburb of Richmond. The space includes expanded warehouse downstairs for the Merchandise arm and extensive space upstairs for staff. Cult-favourite store 24Hundred will reopen in spring, and a new writer studio and content creation space will start construction soon.
