Celebrated Australian singer songwriters Kate Ceberano, Steve Kilbey and Sean Sennett have revealed the road trip style video for their debut single, ‘Monument City Lights, 1973’. View HERE.
Directed by Lee and Jason Rogers the clip was shot on some of Australia’s most iconic streets – Oxford Street and Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst, Sydney’s Macquarie Street and College Street, Collins Street in Melbourne, and Chapel Street Prahran, amongst many others!
Steve Kilbey sums up the video beautifully, saying, “Monument City Lights, 1973 is me and Sean hanging out on the means streets of any-town with Kate Ceberano. We put our foot to the floor and we hightail it outta there before sunrise. But we always return to the same night. And it begins all over again…”
‘Monument City Lights, 1973’ is a unique collaboration between Kate Ceberano, Steve Kilbey and Sean Sennett. Recorded in studios between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, the song is helmed by a classic bass line, chiming guitars, an ice-cold drum sound and a wonderful opening gambit as Ceberano and Kilbey trade lead lines.
As epic as the title suggests, Monument City Lights, 1973 recalls Bowie’s Berlin years mixed with the mood of a David Lynch film.
The song began life with Sennett and Kilbey writing together in a cramped beach side apartment. Ceberano added her songwriting gift and Monument City Lights, 1973 came to life.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
