With less than a month to go until gates open, UP DOWN’s second announcement is bringing out the ‘woo’ girl in all of us – adding one of the countries rising electronic stars into the mix, unveiling their fresh locals stage, and dropping the highly anticipated set times.
Leading this second announcement is house aficionado and certified party starter POOLCLVB. After building up his profile with a slew of high-profile remixes, the Sydney based producer has gone from strength to strength, supporting electronic heavyweight Golden Features on his debut nationwide tour and scoring the #1 track on the ARIA Club Charts with ‘Always’ in 2016. His latest tracks, the groovy ‘Flying Away’, ‘Freefall’ and ‘What You Want’, have only gone on to cement POOLCLVB as one of the sharpest DJ/producers in the country. With POOLCLVB locked in and ready to get the UP DOWN crowd cutting-shapes, all eyes now turn to who will be occupying the brand new locals stage.
Elephant Tracks’ Jayteehazard headlines the newly branded locals stage. With production credits with the likes of Hilltop Hoods, Briggs, Urthboy and more, the Newcastle DJ shines with both his own catalogue, and finely tuned ear to pulsate the dance floor. The honour of christening the newly created locals stage goes to up-and-coming trance maestro and Newcastle local Ibazz, followed by a host of local talent with the likes of Tally DJ’s, Esque, Amos Wellings, Matthew Cussen, DJ Fuel, and DJ Lowblow.
While the locals stage may be fresh and exciting don’t let it distract you from the fact that from the moment gates burst open at 12:30pm all the way through to the designated 9:00pm curfew there will be no shortage of must-see acts, both foreign and domestic.
Italian dance punks The Bloody Beetroots return to Australia for the first time since 2016 and close out Stage 1 between 7:50-9:00pm with classics like ‘Rocksteady’ and ‘Warp 1.9’. Also flying in for the beachside bonanza is Swedish ‘Teenage Crimes’ mastermind Adrian Lux who will bring his very best house music vibes to the beach between 1:30-2:20pm. Caribbean dreams are also set to take over UP DOWN from 4:35-5:35pm with Trinidadian dancehall and soca king The Jillionaire (of Major Lazer fame) getting tropical.
Miracle worker Motez leads a strong contingent of Aussie flavours into the sunset with his 5.40pm set, bookended by a triage of domestic dance music talent, the likes of Elk Road, Carmada, Nina Las Vegas, Basenji, and Go Freek who sail the tropical party into the night.
The three stage gathering has limited capacity to maximize the right vibes. With pop up cocktail bars and the best street food on offer, UP DOWN aims to please for this relaxing afternoon mixer. What to wear? Dressing the part isn’t just allowed, it’s encouraged so pull out those boardies and back ties, frocks and flowers for the ultimate Sunday session.

AMNPLIFY- DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
