Indie pop rising stars Vacations are ending 2019 on a high. After another year of steadily amassing tens of millions of streams and teams of fans across the globe, the Newcastle four-piece release the brand new video for the single On Your Own, as they are gear up for a new year that promises to be band’s biggest.
Setting their sights on expanding their influence in 2020, Vacations are preparing a career-defining new album for release, along with a healthy schedule of tour dates and festivals to be announced that will further introduce a band that international audiences are already falling for in a big way.
The new video for On Your Own, is a cheesy, but super-fun talk show inspired clip directed by Maya Luna. The song it accompanies is the woozy slacker pop anthem that helped continue to fuel the massive overseas buzz already burning for the band in North America, Europe and the UK. With its modulated jangle and bouncing tempo, On Your Own flows forth in a seemingly effortless way, carrying with it well-crafted pop hooks almost as sharp as the acerbic wit behind the song’s lyrics.
As the band’s founder Campbell Burns explains, “On Your Own marks a new direction and different dynamics for us, and I’m excited to see where it takes us. We’ve never sat down together as a group and fleshed out ideas as much as we have with this song.”
Without industry backing, and propelled by an organic DIY word of mouth elevation, Vacations have amassed incredible stream and view numbers currently sitting at 20 million streams and counting, with 84% from North America alone and over 3 million YouTube views. Off the back of two quality EP’s then 2018’s debut LP Changes, Vacations have morphed from a solo affair for main man Campbell Burns, to a fully-fledged unit featuring players and co-writers Jake Johnson, Nate Delizzotti and Joseph Van Lier.
With a settled line-up, new management, album #2 ready to go and plenty of high profile shows already marked in their 2020 calendar it’s a sure bet that Vacations are about to convert their early buzz into a slow-burning ascent.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
