ANNOUNCES AUSTRALIAN SHOWS
+ PREMIERES PLAYFUL MUSIC VIDEO FOR LATEST SINGLE “GOT SOUL”

Following the release of her critically acclaimed new album The Order of Time, Valerie June has announced she will be visiting Australia this September and October with a string of East Coast dates alongside Nashville’s Old Crow Medicine Show. plus a special performance at Dashville Skyline festival. To coincide with news of the tour, Valerie has also released a colourful, spirited music video for her latest single “Got Soul.”

The “Got Soul” music video, directed by noted New York photographer Jacob Blickenstaff beautifully captures June performing in a variety of settings interspersed with childhood photos showcasing the rising star’s sparkling energy and openhearted nature. The video also incorporates vintage footage captured by Mary Burns from June’s first ever live solo performance in Memphis, TN. “The ‘Got Soul’ video is my journey through genre and song. While making this video I was able to find a way to blend my past with the present,” shares June.

Valerie June will take the stage at Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday 28th September, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Sunday 1st October, closing with an all-ages show at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on Tuesday 3rd October. She will be playing alongside acclaimed Nashville-based six-piece Old Crow Medicine Show who will be performing Bob Dylan’s iconic “Blonde on Blonde” in its entirety, rounding out an authentic ‘Taste of Americana’ double-bill for local audiences. This special tour is presented in collaboration with the AmericanaFest, hosted annually in September is Nashville, Tennessee.

Valerie has shared the stage with the likes of Sharon Jones, Sturgill Simpson, Jake Bugg and more. Commenting on June’s beguiling live show, CMT asserted, “watching her songs come to life onstage is like watching Dolly Parton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and David Bowie perform together through one woman.

Valerie June’s acclaimed new album The Order of Time was released in March and is available via Concord Records / Caroline Australia. The follow-up to 2013’s breakthrough album, Pushin’ Against A Stone, has drawn broad international acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, New York Times, NPR Music, The Guardian, Vice Noisey, Garden & Gun, Okayplayer, MOJO, UNCUT, Entertainment Weekly and many more.

Rolling Stone included The Order of Time on their recent ‘50 Best Albums of 2017 So Far’ list and proclaimed the album is “near-perfect from front to back.” The New York Times called Valerie’s voice “a marvel of seeming guilelessness,” The Guardian raved the album is “bursting with standouts,” and MOJO declared the album “beautiful and tempting”in their 4-star review.

Produced by Matt Marinelli (Bad Brains), The Order of Time blends southern sounds, African rhythms and ambient atmospherics into an absorbing, soulful reflection on love, family, struggle and the passing of time.  Expanding on the electric tones of its predecessor, June infused the new album with wide-open, ethereal soundscapes; an intimate, inviting backdrop for these richly detailed character studies and her one-of-a-kind voice.
