In celebration of their debut album Cleave earlier this year, today dynamic electronic pop duo Vallis Alps announce their return to Australia touring the country in March 2024. Alongside the tour news comes the second of a series of remixes from the album. Following long-time friends Mansionair’s most recent remix of ‘You & I’ is the official rework of ‘Start Again’ from Eora / Sydney’s GAUCI. LISTEN TO ‘START AGAIN (GAUCI REMIX)’ HERE + SEE TICKET INFO BELOW.
Returning a year after their first shows in Australia following their six-year-long hiatus, the pair head to Naarm/Melbourne, Meanjin/Brisbane, and Eora/Sydney hitting 170 Russell, the Metro Theatre, and The Tivoli this coming March 2024. Supporting Vallis Alps on the road will be beloved collaborator Ashwarya, who after years of mutual admiration, teamed up together on the high-speed, uk-tipped remix for ‘Best Friend’.
The vibrant original ‘Start Again’ garnered major attention from the likes of triple j, Double J, iHeartradio, 10 Magazine, SBS, and more, and saw the pair shuffle to the cycle of self-doubt and the pendulum swing of self-esteem with bubbling synths subtly growing with each skip of assurance and empowerment. Enlisting Eora / Sydney’s own indie-pop trio GAUCI, the remix for ‘Start Again’ flexes a relentless heartbeat and a no-frills, David Guetta-type energy that breathes new life into the track.

Of the remix, GAUCI share, “We were so keen when Vallis asked us to remix a song off their new record. They’re Australian royalty in our eyes so we had to pull out all the stops. Parissa’s voice suits so many styles so the hardest bit was what direction to go in! Locked in for 24hrs and came up this ode to the simpler days of euphoric dance floor fillers.”. Vallis Alps add, “The moment we heard this remix we were in love with it. There’s something really contagious and unique about all of the things Gauci make, and this is no exception. We’ve been friends with Antonia for years, and she engineered some of our first-ever releases. It’s so awesome to continue the collaboration in a different way.”
In their first album, Vallis Alps demonstrated the transformation of their contrasting forces from states of turbulence and friction into a flourishing partnership. NME Australia praised them as “the sound of a band standing in its truth – the whole truth and nothing but the truth, no matter how dark and ugly it can get.” Vallis Alps revealed a unique prism of electro-pop in their debut, as sonically diverse as the stories that unfold across its twelve tracks.
The collaboration of Parissa Tosif and David Ansari pays homage to the trailblazers from Vallis Alps’ early days (Chrome Sparks, Shlohmo, Baths) while maintaining a forward-thinking perspective. From singles like ‘‘You & I’, the assertive ‘Higher Than This‘,’ and the triple j playlisted ‘Start Again‘ to the anthemic ‘Set It Off, Set It Right’ and ‘On The Eve Of The Rush‘, Vallis Alps received acclaim from NME Australia, Bandcamp, Frankie Magazine, 10 Magazine, as well as radio support from triple j, Double J, SBS, FBi Radio, SYN FM, and others for their ability to balance the emotive with the club-thumping. Channeling the affliction of a Joji ballad with the slow-burn impact of Glass Animals and Biig Piig, Cleave stands as a defining, multi-layered statement for Vallis Alps, bringing them closer to their audience than ever before.

About VALLIS ALPS
The transatlantic project of Parissa Tosif and David Ansari returned earlier this year to widespread support by triple j, NME and more including, described as “breathy, airy and uplifting” by RUSSH Magazine, “pulsing electro-house” by Music Feeds, and as “bigger than anything the duo has ever done in the past and it really suits” by The Music. Cleaveis inspired by the steps Parissa and David have both taken in recent years through beginning their own families, moving abroad and building their creative careers: Parissa becoming a mother and her admittance and entrance as a practising lawyer and David’s most recent launch of his ebullient solo project Davey and Podcrushed, the podcast where Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari explore the heartbreak, anxiety and self-discovery of being a teenager with notable guests including Amy Schumer, Drew Barrymore, Lisa Kudrow, Mark Ronson and more.
Following on from their much-celebrated debut single, ‘Young‘ (Certified ARIA Gold), which culminated in their self-titled debut EP, the band then shared their 2017 follow-up EP Fable as well as standalone singles ‘So Settled‘ and ‘Oceans‘ which drew international praise; consecutive entries across triple j‘s Hottest 100 from 2015-17; sold out 40 date tours across the US, UK, Europe and Australia alongside appearances across SXSW, The Great Escape, Reading and Leads Festival, Splendour In The Grass, Falls Festival, Groovin’ The Moo, Spilt Milk, Listen Out and more; produce remixes for Troye Sivan with ‘EASE‘ and Matt Maeson on ‘Hallucinogenics‘ alongside a cover of The Shins‘ ‘New Slang‘ for triple j’s Live A Version; and garner a discography boasting half a billion streams globally – all achieved as a fiercely independent outfit.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
