Today marks the much-anticipated return of Vancouver Sleep Clinic as he unveils his latest single ‘Love You Like I Do’, a symphonic explosion of sound, layered over soothing vocals and heart-felt lyricism.
The new single is the first glimpse of what to expect from the Brisbane artist’s third studio album and most definitive set of material yet titled Fallen Paradise out Friday July 8 via Believe.
Tim explains the inspiration for the new single, “Created in the thick of a testing 4-month separation from loved ones in locked down London, Love You Like I Do came as my declaration of promise to pull through whatever hell may present itself for the people I love.”
Today he has also unveiled the stunning black and white clip to coincide with the release. Shot in the beautiful Queensland countryside and featuring the hidden natural wonder of The Capricorn Caves, the video for ‘Love You Like I Do’ follows a displaced vagabond shifting through vast & stunning climates in an attempt to find what he does not yet know he’s looking for – something which may have actually been watching and waiting for him the whole time.

In exciting news, he has also shared that he has signed a worldwide deal with Believe.
Believe’s Country Manager for Australia & New Zealand Mick Tarbuk says on the signing, “I distinctly remember the first time I heard Tim’s vocals, it transported me to another place, another dimension. From that moment onwards I’ve tried to strike up a partnership, the planets have finally aligned with the making of this beautiful album. ‘Love You Like I Do’ is just a taste of what’s to come, I and the global Artist Services team can’t wait to launch forthcoming album ‘Fallen Paradise’.”
Tim conceptualised the material and laid down the foundations for Fallen Paradise in Australia, before relocating to London at the beginning of 2021 to record and work alongside producer Charlie Perry (Jorja Smith, BTS).
Inspired by the concept of liminal space and a central idea of existing somewhere in the middle of two different worlds, the new album not only provides an insight into Bettison’s creative flow during lockdown but offers up a picture of him at his purest.
Across its ten tracks, Fallen Paradise weaves threads of expansive storytelling with sophisticated production and sweeping arrangements. The album is grounded in real life experience and an embrace of accessible nuance and intimacy when it comes to the overall song writing.
“This is the first time I’ve really reached full peace with myself as an artist. I think that just being in that whirlwind of seven, eight years has just been relentless. Naturally, for anyone going from that period of being a teenager to their mid-20s, it’s a crazy period of change. I never gave myself that time to be at peace with who I was or with what I wanted to be doing. I think that’s the biggest thing with this album, I had the time to just reflect on everything, who I’d become.”
Over the years Tim has been quietly reaching remarkable milestones with his music, collaborating with some of the best international producers and creative teams, landing his songs on huge international TV shows and touring extensively around the globe.
His music has made it on international TV shows overseas including The Good Doctor, Suits, Vampire Diaries, Catfish, Bones, The Royals, Reign, Arrow, Teen Wolf, and he has found an unexpected fan in UK comedian Ricky Gervais
A true collaborator at heart, Tim has had the privilege to work with some of the best creatives around the globe including ZHU & Daniel Johns, Madeon, Raury, Said The Sky, Kasbo, Gnash & Shallou, producer Al Shux (Jay Z, Lana Del Rey, Alicia Keys, Lianne La Havas), producer duo Finatik N Zac (Drake, Kanye West, The Kid Laroi, Megan Thee Stallion), music video director David Helman (Glass Animals, Vince Staples, Shura) and features effects by the design firm Etc. (Beyonce’s Lemonade).
Fallen Paradise is authenticity in musical form: a perfect way for Bettison to move forward, further into this new decade of ideas and sounds.
“I began to trace back the roots of why I wanted to start making music. A lot of that got lost along the way, as it naturally does when things get crazy. It was a chance for me to step back and fully try and get a grasp on what it is and what the essential core of me doing this was; what made it so enjoyable and cathartic for me. Finding the source of that and using it in the next project; taking my time and making sure that the next project is exactly what I wanna do. It’s the most at peace I’ve been with something I’ve made and probably the most fun I’ve had. It just sounds like me.”

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
