With an impressive run of genre-bending releases in 2023 and a Music Victoria nomination, VOLDY capped off the year with ‘COLOURED FACES’; a collaboration with fellow rising Australian Hip-Hop artists MALI JO$E and JAAL. The record originally released December 15th; however, present the Music Video, set to release March 14th.
Last year saw all three artists sought to new heights, with new projects and experimental releases. They’ve come together to deliver an irresistible hip-hop bop with COLOURED FACES, which came together organically, in one night of creating. The production is provided by heavy hitters IJALE and OJC43, who perfectly complement each other and bring the best out of each artist.

On the song VOLDY said “COLOURED FACES is about inner growth. Searching deep inside to find a purpose and drive that shifts you to that next gear. Collaborating with MALI and JAAL, allowed us to all showcase our unique styles, but also come together and support one another. The bar by MALI “till this day, there’s only day ones” really speaks to our relationship over the years and the continued effort to champion each other and grow this Australian Hip-Hop scene.”
Besides being a fun and energetic record, COLOURED FACES speaks to the inherit power each artist has and wields. Part of that power is understanding you can really shift the lives of others. This is further echoed in VOLDY’s lyric “Star at the star, see my reflection”. VOLDY, along with MALI and JAAL, recognise their own potential, stardom and ability to bring joy with a cultural perspective that very few can offer.
The music video is super playful, yet direct with its message. Shot by Somwhere Else and produced by Hy-Lo Creative, VOLDY wanted to bring greater attention to this record by providing a visual counterpart, but also treating fans who are patiently waiting for new music. Thankfully the wait won’t be too long, with VOLDY planning on releasing his new EP mid-year, with its first single dropping in early April.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
