‘STUMBLE’
– Out Now

Tackling creative burn-out induced anxiety head-on, alt pop artist Vulpes Argenteus goes gloriously off-kilter in latest groove-fuelled indie/alt hiphop single, ‘STUMBLE’, which released onto streaming platforms on July 18.
The solo project of Rhys Fox – music journalist, podcast host, and long-time collaborator and bassist in the South East Queensland scene – Vulpes Argenteus released the debut single, ‘The View’ in March (featuring vocals from Ringo Starboy), but this time around Fox embraces vulnerability and dips it into alt-pop / lo-fi trip hop energy.

‘STUMBLE’ draws influences from Gorillaz, Cake and early-2000s indie-electronica, and becomes a raw, relatable commentary wrapped in heavy bass, distorted textures, and ear-worm vocal lines that swerve between half-rapped musings and shout-along hooks.
‘This track, originally started out as rather vengeful, spewing out lyrics as a form of therapy, before I realised that the problems I was writing about was me and the constant battle in my head. Those original lines were scrapped, apart from a few sketches, and it wrote itself – ‘STUMBLE’ dives headfirst into doomscrolling (guilty), anxiety and creative burnout – but at least I do it with groove and grit,’ says Fox.
.

After years behind the bass and the byline, Fox has stepped forward with a project that’s personal, punchy and left-of-centre. Debut single ‘The View’ introduced his lush, layered world; while ‘STUMBLE’ flips the script with glitchy beats, ADHD confessions and a bassline built to wobble.
‘STUMBLE’ tripped its way onto digital streaming platforms on July 18.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
