Los Angeles-based artist Wallice has announced her first-ever headline tour of Australia, following her successful run as direct support for The 1975’s ‘At Their Very Best’ tour across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Presented by Secret Sounds, the tour will kick off on Friday 13th October at The Brightside in Brisbane, followed by a show at Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Saturday 14th October. In addition, Wallice has been announced as one of the performers for the inaugural SXSW Sydney Festival, showcasing on Wednesday 18th October.
Speaking on the announcement, Wallice says: “It’s been a dream of mine for a while now to open for the 1975. I can’t believe it finally happened let alone in Australia and New Zealand, two places I’ve always wanted to go to. It was amazing playing in front of my biggest crowds yet, and being able to meet so many amazing fans as well. I can’t wait to come back this October for my own headline shows. I feel so lucky to be able to travel so far and share my music. It’s also an honor to be a part of the very first SXSW! I’ve never been to one, so I can’t wait to come back and be a part of that too! “

This tour comes in support of Wallice’s forthcoming EP, MR BIG SHOT, set for release on Friday June 23rd via Dirty Hit. The EP’s lead single, ‘Best Friend,’ is already making waves, with its striking music video directed by Anthony Pham and John Merizalde, known for their work with the likes of Harry Styles, Ariana Grande, and Depeche Mode. ‘Best Friend’ is Wallice’s first new music of 2023, carrying on from where she left off with her previous single ‘Japan’, ‘Best Friend’ sees her continue to showcase her more reflective and sentimental side, touching on the sometimes nostalgic, sometimes frustrating memories of lost relationships. Wallice comments; “A recurrent theme in my music has been friendship. I think this song can easily relate to both friendship and the friendship within a romantic relationship. I’ve had a couple falling outs with various friends throughout my life, I think it’s just part of life and growing up. Even though that friendship might not serve you anymore it’s still so easy to reminisce on it and miss it.”
In addition to her successful run supporting The 1975, which saw her playing to over 79,000 fans across Australia and New Zealand, Wallice’s breakout 2022 saw her sign to Dirty Hit for the release of her second EP, 90’S AMERICAN SUPERSTAR 90s, which charts the rise and fall of a fictional celebrity across five cutting, tongue-in-cheek tracks. Wallice has toured extensively throughout the US, supporting the likes of Beabadoobee, Still Woozy, Chloe Moriondo, and Wallows, and has found champions in the likes of Vogue, New York Times, The FADER, BBC Radio 1, Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe, and NME, among others.
Fans won’t want to miss the chance to catch Wallice live on her debut Australian headline dates. Tickets are on sale now HERE

More about WALLICE
After picking up her first instrument at age 6, Wallice started writing songs in middle school and later played in her high school band, inspired by the lyricism of Thom Yorke, Lana Del Rey and the punky irreverence of Weezer and No Doubt. She also modelled and acted (once appearing in an episode of Frasier) throughout adolescence, with her former actress mother supporting all creative pursuits. A proud college dropout, she attended the New School in New York City for Jazz Vocal performance for a year before moving back to California and connecting with childhood friend marinelli, who helped her hone the wistful indie pop style that led to her rise. A breakout 2021 culminated in the release of her debut EP OFF THE RAILS, her signing to Dirty Hit, her first sold-out headline shows and support tours. She has found champions in the likes of Vogue, New York Times, The FADER, BBC Radio 1, Pigeons & Planes, Steve Lamacq, Zane Lowe and NME, where she was named as part of the ‘NME 100’ for 2022.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
